Clinton People Behind Drudge Story?

As long as we're all speculating - let's assume a minute that the story is legitimate.

For the story to come out NOW, is it possible that Clinton operatives have leaked the information to throw the Democratic primary race into turmoil? Could the high polling Hillary Clinton be the beneficiary of such chaos? I'm not saying that's what's happening, but something would be going on. Make no mistake, this would be nomination hardball. The Repubs would wait and use this AFTER Kerry is the nominee. If this story is true --- hang on.

What would be the benefit, get Hillary into the race? She has said she wont accept the nomination.

4. If it's legitimate, than Drudge would have gotten it from the journalists

that are writing the story. It would mean that publication is imminent. He has become their outlet to build interest in upcoming stories.

It works great for both parties, the journalists build a critical mass of interest in a hurry and Drudge makes a million dollars a year for doing nothing.
