Dean took one for the team....
IMHO

Dean had a great message.
DEAN was Relentless.
Dean energized the young voters.
Dean has forever changed campaign strategy.
Dean proved the Internet was a force to use in a campaign.
Grassroots works.

Now to the "took one" part. He placed himself way ahead of the pack and the reThugs targeted him. Say what you want but we all owe Dean an Atta Boy he stayed on message and hammered the reThugs into the ground. By the time the other candidates got up a head of steam the reThugs couldn't shift the attacks fast enough. They were balls deep in framing DEAN the way they wanted DEAN to appear and couldn't pull out fast enough to react to the other candidates. Now the spin cycle has reversed and the media is turning on the BFEE.

1. I agree absolutely
The Democratic Party owes a huge amount to Dean. We've got a backbone again, and it's because of him.
To Governor Dean, however this campaign for the nomination ends, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to the country and the Party for actually telling it like it is about Bush* and the pukes.

3. I think we owe Dean our votes
He's the only one who's earned them -- all the others are copycats who don't LIVE the truth, just mouth it.

5. oh brother
Dean is a conservative who has allowed himself to be portrayed as a liberal in order to win votes in the primaries. That most people see through that doesn't negate the dishonesty of the Dean campaign. That he is extremely negative doesn't help either.

6. Just as it took Nixon to go to China, it took a fiscal moderate to expose
Bush.

Dean didn't lie. He simply allowed the press to position him -- for better AND worse. He was in over his head on that, but who wouldn't be?

11. Dean never portrayed himself as liberal..
He portrayed himself in the way he really is.. he is like most of the voters. Liberal on this, conservative on that. I'm not a by the book Liberal, nor could you call me a conservative. I agree with most every one of his issues. He never pretended to be someone he is not. He got my vote in the caucus, and he deserves it. I think he, Edwards, and Kucinich are the only ones I'd consider at this point.

but don't fool yourself that a dead battery will not have to keep being recharged so who will give the next charge? Charged in 2000 (record voter turnout) but quickly died, still dead in 2002 (lost elections) charged again in 2003-04 and may die again in November will have to wait and see. I say why not just go ahead and buy a NEW battery and quit the jumps every time you need your car to go. Go Dean 04!

9. As Far
As I can tell our main goal is to defeat the BFEE. Now that being said Dean put us on the right track he has helped to expose the reThugs he has solidifed the Young Democrats he has exposed issues and he is attacking the other dems right now to put issues to rest that the reThugs can use for ammo later. Is dean Electable is Dean Likeable is Dean Presedential Does it really matter ? The goal here is to defeat * and his BFEE.
