This is the first strike, ladies and gentlemen....(re: Kerry brouhaha)

First let me state that now Clark has dropped out, I am behind Dean in the primary. Having said that, it sure looks like Kerry is going to be the man and I am lining up my ducks. We all should be unless you plan on writing in Daffy Duck or Bugs Bunny.

Now that Clark is out, the Republicans are already starting their dirty war. They've launched a two part offensive trying to attack Kerry's war hero status, and his fidelity. Two issues they plan to exploit and exploit. Expect the Drudges, Hannitys and Limbaughs to be braying this mantra over and over again.

Ladies and gentlemen, it's that old Goebels trick, "if you repeat a lie enough it becomes truth" - well the lying liars are stuck in broken record mode and will repeat this ad nauseum.

Expect to see Fox news replay the grainy shot of Kerry in the back row of a protest Fonda was at (they expect many to beleive that Fonda scored Kerry these hot tickets)and they will play some soundbyte of the new Gennifer Flowers.

OK...what WE have to do now is to fight these allegations. Don't let them stick - take a queue from the Dean Defense corps and fight them on every allegation. Go to the message boards that will have us (americanforums.net, etc...), go to any place where open discussion can take place and fight any of these allegations.

Ladies and gentlemen, the stakes are too high this year and I don't think I have to remind you that Pickering on the Supreme Court means serious regression in all of our gains over the past 30 years.

ON EDIT:

All this time we've been doing a fair amount of sparring candidate against candidate, saying that as harsh as we are, the Republicans are going to be worse. Well, my friends, this is the first assault. Get the guns ready and start fighting.

7. Is this guy giving us a great practice run or what?
So he's sitting next to Fonda. Big deal - does that take away from his accomplishments as a war hero? Does the fact that he protested the war make the war right? Are you saying Vietnam was a shining moment in American History?

If you are a Vietnam Vet - - do you feel the US gave you a glad hand or a raw deal regarding that war?

9. Disagree
"Republicans are already starting their dirty war"

I disagree. This is nomination hardball. The Republicans would wait until Kerry is the nominee. What benefit would it be to tear down John Kerry NOW? If this story is true - emphasis on "if" - it is internal Democratic politics.

11. Well Bush is scared for one
He's down in the polls, the AWOL question has hit a feverish pitch and he panicked, plain and simple.

Look at the straws they're grasping for Chrissakes! A picture with Kerry four rows down from Fonda?

Bush knows he's toast....and he's panicking and throwing all the ammo overboard early.

It sounds like there may be Clark/Clinton/Lehane involvement.

13. does anyone think it's possible that Kerry
might have some pictures of his own? Could be interesting if he does.

I think this will backfire; the last thing the Pubs want to do is draw comparisons between Iraq and Vietnam.
