Edwards website posts the details of $14 million + fundraising for 1st quarter

Our campaign to change America raised more than $14 million during the first quarter fundraising period, far exceeding our budget and nearly doubling the amount John Edwards raised during the first quarter in 2003.

Americans from across the country and from a wide range of backgrounds supported Senator Edwards' campaign to start changing America today with big, bold ideas.

Some key details from Q1:

* More than $14 million raised total.

* More than 40,000 contributors from across the country.

* 80 percent of contributions were $100 or less.

* $3.3 million raised from online contributions.

* Around $1 million raised in general election funds.

1. Mathew Gross, who put up the details, worked for Howard Dean.

2. That's a goodly sum.
I think John Edwards will be a very viable contender as the months go on. Iowa's 9 months away. He can buy a few more plane tickets to Des Moines.

3. Edwards raised enough to stay competitive.
And I'm glad. I don't want a two way dance. I want Edwards in this, staying competitive with his eye on the ball!!
