Pounnd the McCain Campaign. Make his campaign pay for the Iraq trip stunt
There is no reason why the American taxpayer should pay for this publicity stunt. Mr. McCain stuck his foot in his mouth himself by saying Baghdad was safe, and he can pay to have the shoe removed.

The American taxpayer undoubtedly paid many tens of thousands of dollars to stage this PR show to assist a Republican in an election. The McCain campaign should reimburse the government for the airfare and security (including a reported 100 soldiers at the still photo only photo op today, three Blackhawks and two Apaches).

We should pound his campaign to pay for this campaign stunt, and ask the current administration to stop using the federal government as a favor vending machine for the Republican Party.

1. Agreed, and
ANY candidate doing this crap should have their campaign pay for it.

5. And if things are so great in Baghdad, as he says, why
was he wearing a bulletproof vest? Why were there 100+ soldiers guarding him as he walked through the streets? Why the heliocopters over head?
Just another Republican liar - that is all he is.

6. I wonder why he was dumb enough to pronounce Baghdad
as safe as he did BEFORE his trip? Did someone feed him bad intel? Sometimes I wonder if he does this to himself, or if his staff is out to get him--or mercifully get him to say something so stupid he's forced to quit.
