Seriously. If it's not warmonger imperialist this and Republican lite that, we're being told that it's our sacred duty to support her because we need a female president, or that if you don't back her then you must hate women.

I don't have any particularly brilliant rant here, I just got annoyed. I'm no great fan of Hillary, but at the same time I have a very low tolerance for people simply making up their own special realities, for or against, based around their personal preferences and psychological fetishes. It seems to me that a little more reasoned debate, and a little less shrill absolutism, would go a long way towards making this a more relaxed year and a half on DU.

2. All criticism of Hillary is dismissed as "shrill"
You can cite her historically abysmal unfavorable ratings.

You can describe your unhappiness with IWR and her intentions to leave troops on the ground in Iraq.

You can object to her portraying Democrats who aren't as hawkish as her as wimps. (I've got the quote, if you want it.)

You can acknowledge your reluctance to give the MSM and the Pubs a chance to play with Clenis again.

You can lament the corporatism of the Clintons.

And you can say it's time to put a new face on the party.

You will dismissed as shrill and as a hater.

I agree. It's getting old.

3. I agree
I'm a Hillary supporter, but I don't think she's perfect or that she's the inevitable nominee. I don't always disagree with the posts of fellow Hillary supporters.

I enjoy debating her the issues, but I hate getting caught up in silly little arguments with people. And what I *really* don't like is the hypocrisy in criticizing candidates. For example, people jump all over Hillary for raising lots of money and accuse her of trying to buy the nomination, but Obama also raised a bunch of money, and I haven't noticed a lot of people criticizing him for it.

9. Agreed
And, I haven't seen a lot of solutions coming from Obama's mouth. Just a lot of tired soundbytes about Washington having to change.
It is similiar to having to endure the Nader supporters with their "Both parties are the same" routine.

We see where all that rhetoric got us - George W.

I simply can't see Obama reasoning with mIddle East leaders. And, this is a problem that needs solving.

Show me ONE post where anyone says it's our sacred duty to support her because we need a female president, or that if you don't back her then you must hate women.

I can show you MULTIPLE posts of the "Hillary is the Republican lite neocon" variety, as well as some really stupid spinning of things like how much money she's raised. Further, the anti-Hillary folks are already preparing to claim vote rigging and other nonsense if she wins.

Further, the spin and dishonesty from the anti-Hillary group is something to behold. They claim she voted for the bankruptcy bill. She did not. They claim she backs a constitutional amendment on flag burning. She does not. They claim she has altered her stance on reproductive rights. She has not. They claim they are not one issue voters but after all the spin gets debunked one more time, they always fall back on "the war." Many ignore the fact Edwards not only voted for it, too, but sponsored the bill. The beef is Hillary won't kowtow, kiss their ass, and apologize.

They shrug off polls that are favorable to her but consider ones not favorable to be the gospel truth.

6. You are a such dreamer!
Heck, in 2004, here on DU, Kerry bashing was the rage; even after the election Kerry was slammed.

Now that was annoying. Buckle up, grasshopper.

8. Except
the anti-Hillary points you mention are expressed here dozens of times a day, while I have never seen ONE thread stating the pro-Hillary points you mention.

I find myself defending Clinton here all the time, and the irony is, she's about my third or fourth choice. But the lies and right-wing propaganda repeated against her here day in and day out are worthy of rebuttal.

12. Exactly!
She's my second choice, but If she wins the nom and the general, I'll gloat here and at FreeRepublic. I don't know which online community smears the bullshit about her more.

14. This thread was yet another attempt to bash Mrs. Clinton, plain and simple.
With trying to hide it. I should mention the OP of this thread did a horrible job at it as do so many others.

17. I just went to Barack's site and Hillary's and this is what I saw
Hillary:
Top issues
1. Equal pay for women workers: She cited the equal pay act (passed 44 years ago) and interestingly women still earn less than men overall.
2. Health care

Barack:
Top issues
1.Changing Washington
2. Stopping Iraq war
2.Family
3.Faith and politics

I will give you that Obama has an "Issues" pull down menu that cites the ending of the Iraq war. I am a liberal and I disagree with the war. But, I just have a feeling that since we are there its not quite a s easy to say ,"we just leave."
We are in a quagmire that the MAJORITY of Americans wanted. You can't just leave Iraq and leave the people of Iraq to suffer under an oppressive Islamic state.
Getting out of Iraq is going to take a lot of thought.

Madeline Albright, a person I admire immensely, knows Hillary Clinton has the experience to deal effectively with these issues.

I am not saying I am against Barack-I have never said anything about Barack that has even come close to the hatred I have heard for our former first Lady. I am saying that the virulent hatred for Hillary ignores her expertise and intelligence at great expense to us.
