Hillary lost chance in '04 and probably '08
If Kerry wins, Hillary Clinton can't run for president for eight more years. And then it would be the 58-year-old vice president's turn, maybe for the next eight. That makes 16. That's it.

"Kerry may not be Hillary's biggest problem. John Edwards is the real threat. He's the other half of most Democrats' dream tickets, and by any reckoning, the obvious next nominee. He is also, by any measure, much more electable that the former first lady will ever be. The comparison that she has chosen to make is not between herself and a so-called "Massachusetts liberal," but between herself and a Southern Clinton Democrat."

Bad choice for the senator from New York. Not a mistake Bill Clinton would make. http://www.indystar.com/articles/1/119596-1681-021.html

1. I reject the idea that an incumbent president is entitled to run

6. What I am refering to is that
If there is a new president that serves from 04 to 08, I feel that the president is only entitled to run as an incumbent AFTER they have won the 08 primaries.

2. If only life were that predictable...
President Gore would be a cinch for re-election.

3. I believe our economic problems are so serious
that whoever wins the next election will be a one-termer only. Either way, if he does try to do the right thing and pull us back from the edge of national bankruptcy or if he simply goes with the status quo, this country will be feeling the full effect of Bush's disastrous financial policies and whoever he is, he'll be history long before 08.

12. High possibility your forecast
will be correct. If so, Dr Dean, who has been beaten up and shoved aside by the insider pond scum this year, will be the go to guy in '08, not the Senator from NY, who is part of the problem not the solution.

5. she had no choice
she made a pledge to the voters of new york that she would serve her complete term.

Also, it's no sure thing Kerry will win. If Kerry loses, Hillary will be almost impossible to beat for the 2008 nomination.

8. I wish Hillary would get lost.
Yes, she has star power, but what qualities does she bring with her? She would just be another nightmare for public education. She whored it up with Washington State senator Maria Cantwell - as big a corporate operative as any of them.

We should put more energy into recruiting representatives who really have their acts together.

11. Not really
I expect that after George W has had his eight years, we will be trying to defeat Jeb in 2008.

That being aside, running Hillary would only assure a further 4 years for BFEE.
