Pleeeasseeee send this email around today!!!!
Edited on Sat Mar-24-07 06:00 AM by Maraya1969
Ghost in the machine gave me the information here. I sent the information around last night and was surprised to see it back in my mailbox this morning FROM A DISABLED VET. I was in the middle of a huge email list so this letter could go far.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3178075

THIS LETTER WAS SENT TO ME SHARE WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW. THANKS FROM A 100% DISABLE AMERICAN VETERAN
PLEASE HELP OUR EFFORTS WHAT IS THE PRICE OF PEACE. ITS PRICELESS.
This bill was passed in congress today. George Bush said he will veto it because it sets a deadline of August 2008 to get our troops out of Iraq. So all this money to help our veterans is going down the tube with it. And he says he supports the troops! OUR VETERANS NEED THIS MONEY. THEY DESERVE THE BEST CARE WHEN THEY RETURN HOME, (THE ONES THAT DO). PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS AND DEMAND THAT THEY PASS IT. IF THEY GET A 2/3 MAJORITY THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO VETO IT.

DO IT FOR THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SACRIFICED SO MUCH FOR US.

AND PLEASE PASS THIS ON.

"The $124 billion emergency war bill the committee approved on Friday contains a wide range of funding for health care programs in the Defense Department and Veterans Affairs departments. Funding for DOD health care programs covered by the bill includes:"

$450 million for post-traumatic stress disorder/counseling.
$450 million for traumatic brain injury care and research.
$730 million to prevent health care fee increases for U.S. troops.
$20 million to address the problems at Walter Reed.
$14.8 million for burn care.
The bill increased funding for the VA's health care programs by $1.7 billion, including:

$550 million to address the maintenance backlog at VA health care facilities to prevent situations similar to those at Walter Reed.
$250 million for medical administration.
$229 million for treatment of a increased pool of veterans.
$100 million to allow the VA to contract with private mental health care providers.
$62 million to speed claims processing for returning veterans.

"This is the extra money that the Dems "slipped into this bill for their pet spending projects", according to President Bush. If he vetoes this bill, this should be hung around his neck for the rest of his life."

The only ones we could rely on for this would be Keith Olbermann, Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert. The M$M won't cover it, they're paid shills for the Mis-administration. It might be up to bloggers, and people who care, like Maraya here, who took a simple post of facts that I put out, and sent it out to a large email list. Grassroots if ever I saw it. Thanks Maraya!

Copy it and send it to everyone in your email address book, on your lists, wherever you have contact with other people, no matter if you only have 2 people on your list... or 2000. Get the facts out, and don't let these criminals frame the issues or debates any longer.

PEACE!

Ghost

Edited: For an errant apostrophe. Those darn apostrophie's!
