Do they do it after Wisconsin? after Super Tuesday? Or do they take it all the way to the convention? I'm going under the assumption here that nothing dramatic happens from here on in and Kerry keeps winning primaries by sizeable margins.

1. Good question
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 04:50 AM by La_Serpiente
there are still a few largely populated states (California, Florida, Texas, New York).

Edwards will need to take Florida and Texas, along with other states in Cajun country, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and a few other states as well.

I am not sure where Dean will go. The southwest has already been taken. Maybe Oregon, Utah, and New Jersey (the mayor of Salt Lake City endorsed him . He also has the endorsement of McGreevey.)

2. If Kerry is unchallenged
I predict he will go for the center, soon after the Democratic convention. He must be called to task on trade issues. They lie about the ability of the US to 'reform'Nafta. Nafta is autonomous.
Recall, nations like Brazil refuse go along with a larger Latin American trade bloc..They know they will give up autonomy on trade, and be subjected to corporate domination from WTO policies.
Those Democrats who say we can reform WTO are either uninformed or lieing. Challengers must educate them..
If job losses are not stemmed in a future Democratic Administration, would the hell progress can be made for the American people; in a country where we do not produce enough computer chips for the Defense department's needs.

7. Going to the "centre" would be an improvement
Right now, Kerry is running from the right, particularly on social issues.

3. it's going to boil down to money
if the donor base dries up, they'll have to get out. And no wins usually means no cash. JMO

4. Anyone have any idea how much $ Edwards has?
I just don't see that much money pouring in for him at this point.

6. Hopefully never
Kerry needs to be challenged after all his acquiescence to the Bush agenda.
