Unctuous Joe Lieberman is up now, praising Gore's "intellectual vigor"
in presenting the issue of climate change. Both "fact based" and "faith based" approach...

Wonder what he thinks of Bush's "intellectual vigor?"

5. I'm pretty sure he does!
Not all Christians (or believers of any faith) are idiots! If you have no faith in anything but yourself, does that make you and idiot?? I think not! Peace

8. I'm at least 5min behind on the web feed
but I just saw him say that he does not proselytize about his own beliefs, but he does believe the Earth belongs to the lord and it's an insult to heap abuse on it...

(total paraphrase)

Ugh.

7. its an interesting book
there's something in there for justifying anything you want to think.

When he placed his hand on the bible and swore to uphold the constitution, I had no problem with that and believe that he did.

Bush thought he placed his hand on the constitution and swore to uphold his interpretation of the bible.

that's when the shit hit the fan

12. Al Gore was raised Southern Baptist
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 03:51 PM by Bridget Burke
But I believe he's distanced himself from that denomination after the SBC got all politicized. Jimmy Carter did the same.

In fact, Al studied for the ministry for a while, after returning from Vietnam.

15. Why do you "hope not" exactly?
Neither the Bible nor Christianity are the sole domain of bigots, repubs, and "thumpers." Some thinking people have actually read it too.

Right-wing bigots often assume that liberals haven't read the Bible when it's clear that said bigots are the ones not following Jesus's words.

Welcome to DU, btw. :hi:
