"Thank you Mr. President" said a speaker at the Gore hearing to Vice President Gore
At the hearing, at the end of the first round one of the speakers called Gore, President Gore instead of Vice President, like all the others. I heard it and smiled. I bet he did it on purpose. It was one of the Democratic speakers who was leading the hearing.

2. I've vowed to myself to call him...
Mr. President, should I ever have the pleasure of meeting him again. I met him when he visited a former boss, along with Bill and Hill... they were regulars at the boss' pad when in Los Angeles.

I got a new job a year and a half ago, and what do I spy in the new boss' office? A picture of him with Al... so sweet.

4. I always refer to him as "President Gore."
Pisses off a lot of the right leaning folks I work with (my industry is badly infected with them), but hey...facts is facts.

7. I refer to him as President Gore, Mr. President or my President and I refer
to the other guy/thief in the White House as bush*. I have NEVER once called or referred to him as President bush*...see, I still can't!

If I were to meet him personally I would try not to call him anything or I'd call him Sir. I still couldn't utter the words Mr. Pres*****.

Which reminds me of the press conference when a reporter called him Sir...and he snapped back, "I am not Sir, I'm Mr. Preside**." What a pompous asshole we have in the WH. He litterly makes me want to :puke:.

6. Al Gore did win the popular vote.
That qualifies him to be President in my book.

He would be so, so, so much better than our current White House resident.

(My apologies for even comparing the two—there is no comparison.)

13. A retarded sea-cucumber
would have been better as President, less damage would have been done.

I believe we'd still have the WTC if the votes were counted.

10. He was the last legitimately elected president,
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 04:24 PM by AshevilleGuy
unless you include Kerry as well. His 'celebrity' showed today there!

I am getting worried that he won't run, however. Can someone convince me otherwise?

11. I can't help but raise the specter of Lieberman
if you call Gore President then you should logically call Lieberman Vice President

I do think he has come a long way since he was last within the walls of congress and I respect and admire the man he has become while the exact opposite it true of Lieberman...

just some perspective

15. I can see an upside to that.
As Vice President, Lieberman would have been mostly out of Congress (so he wouldn't have any effect there, like he does now) except in the case of a tie, in which case he would have been forced to vote the way President Gore told him to vote.

Plus, V.P. Lieberman would have looked a lot better going to international gatherings and such than Cheney does... :)

(The image above is of Vice President Darth Cheney slouching his way through a gathering at Auschwitz in 2005. The Washington Post said of his appearance, "the vice president looked like an awkward boy amid the well-dressed adults.")

14. At a book signing a couple of years ago, I shook his
hand and called him "Mr. President." He looked a little uncomfortable, said "You're too kind," and before I stepped away I added, "I mean it. You were elected. I hope you'll run again and claim what was stolen from you." He just looked down, smiled, and greeted the next person. I'll bet he's heard that hundreds of times, and I hope he takes it to heart.

17. In Gore We Trust
I am certain that Al and Tipper know exactly what "the will of the people" was in 2000.

Like Al said - he "strongly disagree"d with the Supreme Court's decision to stop the recounts in Florida.

"If (Al) was going to run in the future, of course I would support him. I think he'd be a fantastic president. He already got a majority of votes of people in this country once, and so that says something."
-- Tipper Gore on Good Morning America, June 13, 2006

16. Wish I had heard that!
My computer is old and I had to watch snippets of it on the news and all I could think of was how wrong it was for Al Gore-the real and true president of the United States-to be sitting there begging Congress to listen to him and how his true place was in the White House instead of the thief who squats there right now! :grr:

If anything, my admiration for President Gore only grew stronger at that moment.
