Getting Back To The Iraq War - Yesterday I Heard One Of The RW Talking Heads Say.......
when asked - should we bring our troops home from Iraq?

He answered: "We need to give the General Patreas(sp?) plan a shot and then evaluate".

What struck me was he didn't say "We need to give pResident *'s surge plan a shot and then evaluate".

No he referenced the General Patreas plan.

It looks to me that they are already positioning a fall guy to take the blame if this surge fails.

It won't be * that will take the fall for his surge plan - it will be the General.

Did anybody else pick up on this?

1. It's been my assumption that putting Petraus in commanding position
when his criticism of how the war has been waged is well known, was a move that made sense only if the shrub expected his efforts to fail. So yes, I agree with you.

3. Can you believe it?
They are asking soldiers to put their lives on the line for a 25% chance of success.

They might give it some more thought if it were their own lives at stake.
