If Bush Calls Investigation,"Partisan Fishing Trip"......
...Then what in the world does he call the $70 million dollar+ Whitewater Investigation against The Clinton's?

Sounds like the precedent set at that time should still apply to Bush and every other President after Clinton. Don't you agree?

1. Tony Snow agrees with you
Back in 98 the tonester thought it was horrible that the president used executive privilege to try to prevent from testifying. It just wasn't murkan, tony said. And, IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE! One of my favorite conservative quotes, along with go fuck yourself.

3. I would love for the one of the WH Press Corps members to ask Snowjob about this.
Is there a link to his comments?

Or a record of it, anyway...

Executive Privilege is a Dodge
Tony Snow - Op-Ed - St. Louis Post-Dispatch, March 29, 1998

Evidently, Mr. Clinton wants to shield virtually any communications that take place within the White House compound on the theory that all such talk contributes in some way, shape or form to the continuing success and harmony of an administration. Taken to its logical extreme, that position would make it impossible for citizens to hold a chief executive accountable for anything. He would have a constitutional right to cover up.

Chances are that the courts will hurl such a claim out, but it will take time.

One gets the impression that Team Clinton values its survival more than most people want justice and thus will delay without qualm. But as the clock ticks, the public's faith in Mr. Clinton will ebb away for a simple reason: Most of us want no part of a president who is cynical enough to use the majesty of his office to evade the one thing he is sworn to uphold -- the rule of law.

4. No, a fishing trip is trolling for stuff you hope is there
An investigation is made for stuff you know is there, but hope against hope that it wasn't. Nobody likes to contemplate the reality of such horrible corruption in the White House, but since it's being waved in our faces day after day, squandering hundreds of billions of dollars, and wasting so many lives, we the people have a duty to see that it is exposed and punished.

5. Actually the Publican witch hunts against Clinton cost at least $91.3 Million and lasted 12 years
Can you believe you and I were still funding that smear campaign until just 6 months ago? Clinton's secretary of Housing and Urban Development pled guilty to misdemeanor charges concerning statements he made about payments to a mistress. Neither Clinton nor anyone else was convicted of any other crime that was committed while serving in his administration. Here's something I worked up on that awhile back:
