Bush cornered?
Can we expect an airstrike on Iran soon?

1. That would be really funny
if it weren't about to happen. Personally, I wouldn't put it past him and his goonies to try and take out the Iranian Prez when he comes to the UN.

2. I would've thought we would have seen a rise in the terror warning status

or whatever that thing was supposed to be. Whatever happened to that, its like, gone. But I would have thought some scary chatter or supsicious behavior would have had us up to orange plus by this time.

There'll have to be a new, urgent reason to attack Iran, tho, won't there?

I've always wondered what these bastards would try if they ever got backed up against a wall. I've got a feeling its going to get really nasty...

3. Let's hope the cons are so cornered
that they don't have time to do anything but plan their legal defense and they are so isolated they won't have anyone to do their dirty work.

4. Only reason I can think it won't happen
Is that it is possible that given how bad things are going for Bush that the brass might pretend they never got such orders. That would probably destroy him if he gave orders to the military and they said no.

7. I'd more likely expect an attack on US ships in the Gulf, blamed on Iran
which of course then precipitate a strike on Iran.

8. Most likely -- none of those things
Most likely - a compromise under which Rove and Miers testify, maybe under oath, maybe not, in private, with a transcript recorded and released to the public after the fact.

9. yes, he's cornered...so how dangerous does it make him/them?
could we find ourselves with another terrorist attack on our soil? would they dare? I guess it depends on how determined he is to protect Rove/Gonzalez...I don't trust any of them, as far as I can throw them...
look for the worst and hope for the best...and Leahy, don't you dare back down...time for a little blood letting of our own, right here, and right now...

10. Any bets on how far this shucking and jiving will go?
It does appear they've been caught with their pants down and that the jig is up.

11. Not cornered yet. In Watergate terms
he hasn't fired Haldeman and Ehrlichman yet, but that could be coming soon.
