Andrew Sullivan on Larry King spoke eloquently about marriage
for everyone. I was touched. He is so bright, I feel that there is hope for his soul.

1. His mendacity lapses only when issues directly concern him

Otherwise, he's utterly worthless. (The exceptions this prove the rule.) He's a liar who cares only about himself.

9. No. Even with this issue he has a plan to help right wingers.
This should be a major red flag.

3. I guess there IS one ounce of good in Andy...
After all, he DID say Dub had "lost his mind" after the State of the Union lie laundry list! :eyes:

B-)

4. I thought he made some excellent points

Aaron must have been feeling nostalgic, he sounded like a Dixiecrat of old, trying to talk Dr King out of marching :)

5. Yeah old Andy can say reasonable things
when he isn't giving Scalia and Bush rim jobs. I mean, this is someone who, despite speaking English as a first language, couldn't figure out what chimpy meant when he first agreed with Frist about an anti-gay marriage amendment. And he somehow finds it in his heart to forgive Scalia for his homophobic proclamations as long as Andy gets his tax cuts, week longs in Provincetown, and and personal ads.

He's the worst kind of tool: the kind who actually knows better but sells people out nonetheless.

7. for those who missed the Sullivan interview ...
Yeah, I have no use for Sullivan. I try to ignore him. HOWEVER, here is a VERY nice essay on gay marriage, by Sullivan, from this week's Time magazine: "Why the M Word Matters To Me." It's definitely worth a read.

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101040216-588877,00.html

Snip:
"When people talk about gay marriage, they miss the point. This isn't about gay marriage. It's about marriage. It's about family. It's about love. It isn't about religion. It's about civil marriage licenses. Churches can and should have the right to say no to marriage for gays in their congregations, just as Catholics say no to divorce, but divorce is still a civil option. These family values are not options for a happy and stable life. They are necessities. Putting gay relationships in some other category — civil unions, domestic partnerships, whatever — may alleviate real human needs, but by their very euphemism, by their very separateness, they actually build a wall between gay people and their families. They put back the barrier many of us have spent a lifetime trying to erase."
