Bravo Clark and Kerry on great speeches
I heard bits of both on TV and on NPR while in the car. Both of these men are truly gifts to the Democratic party.

I could also reserve a lot of good words for Howard Dean and Al Gore and all they are trying to do for the liberal base of the Democrats. BUt I want to focus on those first two.

I was so impressed with Brigadaire General Wesley Clark's optimism, fighting spirit, and definite promotion of team play. He really conveyed a sense of bitter fighting, of unity necessary to carry of many battle victories leading to a great victory in November.

Also, I felt John Kerry did such a tremendous job of communicating his fighting spirit and the necessity that he go out and communicate across this great land what he believes in his heart--that NO ONE is going to take the flag and patriotism away from groups of Americans. Democrats are patriots. Republicans are patriots. We can find them everywhere. But right now, he will convey why Bush and company are dragging us downward in the wrong direction and Kerry and his guys will have a plan to bring us out of this depressing state.

Yes, that will offend some of you that the Democratic leader, John Kerry, and his advisors have a plan for foreign policy involving projection of US power abroad, but that is definitely not looking at reality.

We live in a dangerous world. We need the positive force of this country's power. We need to encourage countries to see our government will mean business against terrorist networks and rogue states no matter what party is in power. At the same time, we will see a more positive approach with compromise with our allies, with real work to lessen the suffering of other people abroad through humanitarian efforts.

I felt very proud to be an American and to be a supporter of Kerry. ALthough, it is a sad ending for Wesley Clark in that he will strive no more for the presidency, he handled it with grace and determination we Democratic faithful could follow.

1. A real gentleman, general, and patriot like Clark
isn't going to whine about the process or anything that happened during the contest. He was wonderful on Aaron Brown tonight also (the five minutes or so that I saw).

4. Don't you feel better?
I'm so glad I watched the whole thing and also the interviews. Our man's got a life of his own again. He can do and say whatever he damn well pleases, fight the battles he knows best, and he'll be all over the talk shows forever! I'm happy for him now, I really am.

GO WES!!

3. well, I just feel he was a bit too rough around the edges
and if he'd entertained notions seriously to the point of declaring earlier and getting in front of crowds earlier, raising money earlier..we might all be singing a different tune.

Another interesting thing...if Clark had NOT joined up...Kerry would have a much different fight on his hands from Edwards.

NO matter what Dean supporters say, I believe the same result would have ensued for Howard Dean no matter which of these guys was in. AMericans where we are today were not ready for a Howard Dean style presidency.
