This House cannot avoid its Constitutionally authorized responsibility to restrain the abuse of Executive power.

The Administration has been preparing for an aggressive war against Iran. There is no solid, direct evidence that Iran has the intention of attacking the United States or its allies.

The US is a signatory to the UN Charter, a constituent treaty among the nations of the world. Article II, Section 4 of the UN Charter states, "all members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. . ." Even the threat of a war of aggression is illegal.

Article VI of the US Constitution makes such treaties the Supreme Law of the Land. This Administration, has openly threatened aggression against Iran in violation of the US Constitution and the UN Charter.

This week the House Appropriations committee removed language from the Iraq war funding bill requiring the Administration, under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 of the Constitution, to seek permission before it launched an attack against Iran.

Since war with Iran is an option of this Administration and since such war is patently illegal, then impeachment may well be the only remedy which remains to stop a war of aggression against Iran.

1. ??? The Dems just lost the Senate resolution about Iraq.
HOW, tell me HOW could they put together 67 votes for conviction and removal, if they couldn't even get the Iraq bill passed??? I like Kucinich, but he is not very well grounded in reality it seems.

But the thing would tie the administration up in knots for a good while, and bring tremendous and unavoidable publicity to its misdeeds....

so, DK shouldn't speak what is more than ever the truth? even if he's outnumbered? b*sh and his lawbreakers must be stopped, he's trying to garner attention to it. this should make some news.

7. It's the truth but it's futile.
Look what happened today in the Senate: Congress is not even close to impeachment. We can live in a dream world if we want, or we can look at the sad reality. It ain't gonna happen. I seriously doubt we could get the votes needed even in the House for impeachment; how would that look??? Bush would take it as an endorsement!!!

I do not know what Brownback did today. I hate to imagine...

for starters, brownback chose to defend pace's homophobic comments without anyone asking him to. makes me wonder what 40 something former male model he's blowin like haggard?

and, regards to impeachment - well, if someone would put all the facts of the laws they broke together, I can't see how it wouldn't pass in the house if they focused on how they harmed our constitution and what are troops have died defending. the weight against them is getting heavy, surely you see this, and many small towns here and there are standing up for impeachment. if you haven't noticed - he's really unpopular.

13. We need to impeach
Nuff said, it dosen't matter if we don't have the votes we still need to go through with it cause americans want us to take action and hold the bush crime family(thanks malloy) accountable and impeachment sends a message to the white house that say that very message.

I mean the Republicans didn't have the votes for conviction, Gingrich and Trent Lott obiously knew the writing on the wall and still went through with with and so should we.

It's all about accountbility, we MUST hold this present administration accountable for there decitful actions, it's a must.
