2. And who will the Club for Growth endorse?
Would it be Rudy (just because he can "win"?)....

Who do they want?

4. If he didn't know by now the Republic machine would NEVER make him their candidate,
he's a damned fool. Sold his soul to the devil and look how it's paid off. Now watch him try even harder to please the extreme right, who will never accept him as one of their own. He once had the temerity to take a stand against the powers that be for a whole 15 seconds, so they think he's damaged goods anyway.

5. This is all you need to know
This statement from this group
Meanwhile, a new “527” advocacy group, similar to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, has pledged to expose McCain as a communist apologist who turned his back on prisoners of war.

This are probably the same bastards who are blaming the troops for the Walter Reed mess. I can see it now, they will trot out guys who said that he purposely got his plane shot down so he could be taken prisoner, get his legs and arms broken and spend 5 years in a hellhole that these cowards wouldn't have made it back from, but of course they didn't so so they wouldn't have the chance.

10. They only support veterans with lip service and yellow ribbons on the back of SUVs.
I don't really have much sympathy for McCain. He was "swiftboated" once and he didn't learn a thing from the experience. You can bet we'll never see a photo of John Kerry hugging Bush.

11. I HATE John McCain. But I hate even worse this kind of politics.
It's dirty, it's wrong, and it's disgusting. We should evaluate McCain on his record, which we will. No more baseless attacks from Vietnam, that train has left it's station. No more!!

15. AMEN!
Couldn't agree more. Assualts on military records have no place in our public discourse. Those that fund, support, and particpate in this kind of slime should be publically vilified.

I'm no fan of John McCain and we're at opposite ends of the political spectrum, but I'd never support an attack on his service to his country.

12. John Kerry defended McCain in 2000. McCain let Kerry be cut to shreds in 2004.
When John McCain was being maligned by Karl Rove and Trent Lott down in South Carolina in 2000, it was John Kerry who went immediately to the well of the Senate to defend him. Bush's campaign were saying that McCain was "unstable" because of having been a POW and more.

When 2004 came along, it was a whole different thing. When John Kerry, a hero, was being smeared falsely by Bush's crowd again, John McCain did nothing.

John McCain deserves everything he is now reaping for being such an opportunistic piece of living shit.

14. Only after months and months. I know. I remember. I kept waiting.
Read the archives here at the DU.

And when his "defense" came, it was pathetic and nearly muted.

Don't give him any credit. He was shamed into it.

out of the anti-SBVT ad they had.

They prove it over and over again with what they say, and with what they do.

My view: it is because they are Ashamed of their own cowardly chickenhawk status.
