Domenici US senate seat will be in play in 2008
It is time for the New mexico dems to start grooming potential candidates
for the US senate.

When the firing of the US attorneys is fully exposed, Domenici is likely
to have a hand, or at least a few fingers, in the corruption pool.

3. true, but the cost of proving that to the tax payer is too high
for democrats to squander it on a senate seat.

It is easier to inform and educate the public of what he and his staff were alluding to,
than to prove the charge beyond a reasonable doubt.

Democrats need to focus on maximizing the people's return on investment in democrats, IMHO.

5. The Senate can vote to kick anybody out they want to. No need to
even have a civil or criminal trial.

Besides, look at the cost of prosecuting drunk drivers, bank robbers, or embezzelers. I don't see the tax payers squawking about the high cost of criminal prosecutions.

One doesn't have to prove anything to the taxpayers, only to a jury of 12.

It appears Domenichi committed a criminal act. Should criminals face justice?

Should the Senate ignor major ethical and criminal action by it's own members? I think the taxpayers spoke pretty clearly last November. No more corruption.

Or did you hear a different message?

4. Residents of New Mexico:
Anyone looking good on the horizon? I just keep remembering how all the "sages" kept saying Allen was not vulnerable -- no chance for a Democrat -- don't waste limited campaign funds on a race you can't win -- yada yada. We all know how that turned out. With the right candidate, I think he's EXTREMELY vulnerable.
