Dean says he favors Edwards over Kerry
Then why doesn't Dean get out of the race like he said he would if he loses Wisconsin and endorse Edwards?

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040211/ap_on_el_pr/democrats_68

WASHINGTON - It's not surprising that John Edwards (news - web sites) says he would be a tougher opponent for President Bush (news - web sites) than Democratic front-runner John Kerry (news - web sites). It raises eyebrows when Howard Dean (news - web sites) says the same thing.

With the race's fourth major candidate, Wesley Clark (news - web sites), out of the race, Edwards and Dean are ganging up on Kerry, winner of 12 of the 14 nominating contests so far.

Dean told CBS News in an interview that will air Wednesday night that he believes Edwards would be the better candidate in the general election, even though Kerry has the advantage right now.

"My fear is that he actually won't be the strongest Democratic candidate," Dean told the network.

1. Now why does he think that?
Because Kerry is a... Northeastern liberal?

7. The best guy just quit the race. Clueless voters let..
themselves be persuaded by polls that are meaningless with regards to what will be the political landscape in November.

4. Does anyone know at what time this will air?
Silly me--I just don't trust those journalists and always like to hear the words straight from the candidates' mouths. :-)

5. He reminds me of that knight

in 'The Holy Grail' who keeps charging at his opponent as he gets one limb after another lopped off.

It would surprise me if Dean endorsed or expressed a high opinion of any candidate who is more liberal than himself.

8. I don't trust Dean. I like Edwards.
I'm wondering if he's trying to get the Edwards supporters to support him.

9. why would he say such a thing?
Poor form to comment on other candidates whatsoever unless adressing specific policy disagreements.
