ACT . . . Soros is making good on his pledge . . .
I received a packet of info from these guys in today's mail . . . George Soros has contributed $10 million to an initiative called America Coming Together (ACT), whose goal is to defeat George W. Bush and to elect progressive candidates, particularly in 17 key states . . .

America Coming Together (ACT)

http://www.act4victory.org

America Coming Together (ACT) will conduct a massive voter contact program, mobilizing voters to defeat George W. Bush and elect progressive candidates all across America.

What We Will Do

In seventeen battleground states America Coming Together (ACT)

- will listen to voters’ concerns about issues that affect them and their families;

- will communicate with voters about those issues, highlighting the extremist positions of the Bush agenda and discussing positive, progressive alternatives;

- will coordinate with progressive organizations so we will all be more effective and efficient, working together to mobilize millions of voters who will say NO to the Republican agenda by voting to defeat George W. Bush and elect progressives up and down the ticket.

Worst loss of jobs since Herbert Hoover was President … Massive deficits that threaten Medicare and Social Security and mortgage our children’s future … Alienating the United States from the international community … Right-wing judges … Underfunding of Homeland security … More arsenic and mercury in the water.

They stump around a lot and say they need canvassers, but they never seem to hire anyone.

4. kick . . . this is a good idea that deserves our support, imo . . .
George Soros said that he was going to put his money behind defeating Bush, and here's he first concrete example of him putting that money where his mouth is (literally) . . . and it's not just a website . . . I got a really good mailing from ACT today . . . they're serious about this, and it can only help us win in November . . . hope this topic can get a little more discussion . . .

7. Ah, Soros.
He's not a hero. Just one of the corporate elite out to save the investment.

I get so depressed, thinking how few people listen to this fact.

Here's more on Mr. Soros, from an older post:

Soros did business with the Carlyle Group ($100 million investment), helped finance the so-called 'rose revolution' in the former republic of Georgia - which succeeded with the help of notorious Bush Crime Family bagman James Baker - and is basically one of the monied elite.

His goal here is to preserve the nice, tight framework that has been developed over the last century to control and direct our lives toward the right consumer goods and away from free thinking.

Soros is no white knight.
