To Maureen Dowd, Democratic men are feminine...
...and Democratic woman are masculine.

The NY Times columnist writes:

"If Hillary is in touch with her masculine side, Barry (Barack Obama) is in touch with his feminine side."

Bob Somerby of "The Daily Howler" writes that Maureen Dowd has the same message as Ann Coulter, but for a different audience.

1. Somerby is a smart man.
He's exactly right. Dowdy is Coulter for the cultured.

2. My loathing of Ms. Dowd just took a quantum leap.
Just another insider pretending to be on your side. Ugh.

4. To me she's a skank. A whore to power
Edited on Mon Mar-05-07 09:30 PM by kenny blankenship
Who always has one finger clicking away on her abacus, while she pretends she's just a party girl. She makes herself useful to many, in order to have stuck around as long as she has.

She's never had much of substance to say, all smirking skankery. That's how she's useful to the powerful. That's how she sticks around: anyone down needs kicking you can always count on Dowd to do it. She's one half of a couple of whores sniggering up a dark alley. The comparison to Ann Coulter's content-free record is apt. Never anything like a principle can be seen. She's Ann Coulter, minus the bulging vein in the forehead and scatology.

5. Maureen Dowd is a bitter old maid.
Why do so many Irish-Americans seem to have anger issues?

15. Here's an angry Irish-American spinster who can't stand Maureen.
She's the one who "passed" as a Preppy Chick; called "Heathers" a few years ago. Getting a job at the WASPish NYT was a real step up for her.

Sure, she'll make fun of Shrub when it suits her. But most Texans knew he was an idiot long before his Presidential run. And we knew that Gore was a thousand times better--no matter what Dowd thought of his demeanor.

8. I looked up that word.
Apparently, Maureen Dowd regards Hillary Clinton as being like a "wild beast."

11. And there is nothing so terrifying as those who refuse to play
their appointed role to support the status quo; especially for those who benefit from the status quo. See attacks against gays and lesbians, see attacks against feminists who won't remain silent, see attacks against any group to which the label "uppity" is applied; race, gender/sex, class, ethnicity, pick anyone who doesn't fit definition as prescribed by "the norm".

He's the Father of two sons and a daughter; and he can't stand Bush to boot. That's just a plus.

16. Dowd and Coulter should move in together
A strategic meeting of the cartoon minds. And they could each use a little company.
