This is the reason that was given, and which exists on video tape, for his not debating his opponent in the 2006 Election:

"Congressman Young was unable to be here today, because on the date that we arbitrarily scheduled to tape this debate, he was already scheduled to be in Washington for his regular national security briefing and to visit the Marines and soldiers at Bethesda and Walter Reed Hospitals."

2006 is like AFTER 2004, right? "Stopped" means halted, discontinued, ceased or something like that, right?
