..... the country's problems - the **real** problems - could be solved in a heartbeat. Just spend the money from our taxes on what *needs* to be done .... not on a stupid war waged entirely at the whim of a dry drunk ne'er-do-well.
Healthcare? Money.
Katrina recovery? Money.
Homelessness? Money.
Childbirth deaths? Money.
Veterans' care? Money.
*Real* homeland sekurity? Money.
*Real* national *defense*? Money.
Name a real issue that the majority of us care about and the cure is pretty much spelled out in one word: Money.
But our national leadership has squandered our treasure on the folly of a madman.
We liberals tend to squabble about the damnedest, most arcane of issues. But the real fight is not amongst oursleves. It is with those who are hellbent to destroy our country by starving it to death.
Were the common weal funded fully, we would find ourselves in the enviable position of deciding what one of many good works to do next, not what one good work we can eke out funding for.
End the bleeding that is the Iraq War and our problems will pretty much solve themselves.
As Congress considers the upcoming budget and supplemental funding, why can they NOT see this?
Or do they and willfully avoid it?
