Far right feeling left out

Leading American conservatives are fed up with President Bush and the Republican establishment, and they don't give a toss for the party's 2008 presidential front-runners, either.

GOP chair not invited

Conservative writer John Fund of the Wall Street Journal, hosting one of the conference forums, noted that this is the first year in memory in which the organization didn't invite the chairman of the Republican Party (Sen. Mel Martinez) to speak — a remark that drew a huge round of applause.

A few rooms away, a guy in a plush dolphin costume was calling Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts and one of the repudiated presidential front-runners, a flip-flopper.

At a nearby table, Citizens United kept running out of their latest position paper, "He's No Ronald Reagan: Why Conservatives Should Not Vote for John McCain."

A CPAC poll asked conference goers, if Rudy Giuliani was the Republican nominee, would they vote Democrat, Libertarian, or not vote at all?

Celebrity book-signers at the conference include Ann Coulter, Pat Boone and broadcaster Kevin McCullough, who drew a couple dozen people around a table stacked with his book, Musclehead Revolution.

1. The best thing about all of this...
...is that they did it to themselves, and they have nobody else to blame (not that it stops them from trying.)

10. Why is "Abortion on Demand for the step daughter I screwed" Fund being refered to as a conservative?
Edited on Fri Mar-02-07 05:13 PM by Dr Fate
Why is the media refering to him as a "conservative" when that is not a fact, by definition, consideringhis actions?

12. Good!
Maybe they'll stay home on voting day...unless Dem voters are shortsighted enough to vote for Hillary in the primary. If she wins, I'll bet you'll even see neo-cons rise out of their GRAVES to vote against her.

I'll vote for her if I must, but I really hope that Obama, Edwards, Clark, or SOMEBODY else wins the primary, so that the repukes will be disgusted and stay home.
