CNBC is in the business of promoting scam "artists" and a bunch of other worthless crap.
The real business news comes from Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal (not the editorial page of course). Even better yet, ask the working man.

EDIT: what he said was the "machine " (ie big Wall St. money) broke down, there was definitely trouble I saw from our bank's floor; coupla of the bigs cracked their strangles and left the naked side to run, before they could stop it the programs kicked in and started selling ETFs and nobody really wanted that to happen , but that triggered another "cascade" which was stopped by the end of trading.

This is the sort of damage derivatives can do in the blink of an eye. <i>THAT</i> is what Cramer meant by "the machine broke"
