Are Clark's campaign staffers just trying to get a new job?
For over a week now it seems as if Clark's advisors have
been trying to get him out of the race while he and his
family want to stay in.

I wonder if the staffers want to get out so they can hitch
their wagons to Kerry.

What do other folks think?

2. I think you're spot on.
One of the news shows yesterday (not Fox) made a comment about Clark staffers having been instrumental in this and having said that they were through whether he continued to run or not. I distinctly thought how extremely shabby that was at the time.

I do not have this book-mark here (not at home now) but if you want some more information on why I have no problem believing that due to information that was posted at DU by a fervent Clark supporter in the past, please PM me & I will get that to you tonight.

He may not have been my candidate but he did not merit such shabby treatment. Frankly I'm appalled and disgusted.

3. I think the party wanted Clark in not to win but to give the whole field

of Democrats an aura that Democrats generally are not weak on national security. If a General can be a democrat, then any moderate concerned about national security should vote Dem too.

My first posts on Clark argued that he wasn't in it to win. I don't think the party cared what his family felt from the beginning. They wanted him in, so they got him in. They wanted him out, so they got him out. They realize that he can't win, so they don't want him influencing the race.

I really think the party now wants Kerry and Edwards to debate and have the public pick from between them.

4. Clark Got In Really Only Because Kerry Was Faltering

If Kerry was faltering, Clark would never have run. Gert said as mucho in her comments pre-decision.

I really think the party now wants Kerry.
