Red neck housewives and Hillary.
This post is based on observations in my workplace. I have not yet, nor will I choose a Democratic primary contender until 2008. until then I will be impartial to all Primary candidates whether I like them or not.

In my line of work, you will run into alot of good ole boys. They are not bad guys. I think of them as accidental Republic Party members. They all voted
for * and they all are now regretting it. Still a vote for Kerry in 2004 even if they knew then what they know now is unthinkable. He was viewed as a weak
man. Not a weak Candidate mind you, but a weak man. It really is a forgive them for they know not what they have done situation. They just don't want
to pay attention to the real debates. Echo chamber sound bytes work very well on these guys. However, it looks like Karma will catch up to them, and it won't be pretty.

Many of these guys are just astounded at the fact that their wives want Hillary. These bucolic stay at home moms who have watched their rights fade away in the name of tax cuts and war. Maybe it is a good thing that Hill is looked at as a shrew from the right (and by some on the left). It gives her a tough persona in the eyes of the Rethug proletariat. Remember * got elected on balls not brains, and Hillary has plenty of both.

So please tell me if you have witnessed anything similar to this. Am I seeing an insulated case or could this be considered a ground swell for a female candidate, not necessarily Hillary , but a woman.

Hand them some rifles and Kerry could outshoot any of them. Kerry chased down a guy shooting shoulder rockets at his crew and killed him with his bare hands. He has nerves of steel and does STUNTFLYING for fun, and would not shirk to strap on skates and get on the ice with the best hockey players around. He was man enough to stay STOP treating rape victims like criminals and instituted the country's first rape counseling center for a prosecutions office. Let's not forget to mention the organized crime figures he prosecuted during that period.

Yep - a real weak man.

Try countering them with the TRUTH. Bush is afraid of horses and couldn't finish his Guard duty and pilot training because he was AFRAID to LAND.

Truth helps. Once they learn the truth it is hard for them to cling to the lies.

2. Interesting observation.
I am surrounded by Republics that could not accept Hillary because her husband is immoral. Go figure. Peace, Kim

6. lapinator...
I made no such assumption that we support candidates purely on their sex. As for as rights are concerned, you can't deny that the rights of women are under attack in this current administration. The Republic Party as I see it believes in the models of male domination. Funds that once went to Family Planning clinics, are now in the hands of religious organizations. Two bullet brained theocratic stooges have been placed on the SCOTUS. Women's right may have not been stripped yet, but their foundations are being defended and demolished. The core argument that these belt way power brokers have forgotten is simple. Reproductive rights and the liberation of women has not only set them free, but it set us men free as well. Financial Independence, choosing when to have children or choosing not to have children. Tax cuts and war are the reasons given to produce the votes from the non fundamentalist voters. The chipping away at the sexual and constitutional rights of the American people is just the bonus prize.

5. Welcome to DU! And, yes, I think her sex has something to do with her support.
I know several true-blue Dem women who like her and that's partly due to the fact that she's a woman. I hear them say things like "it's about time a woman was in the WH" or "if a woman was in charge we'd never be in the mess we're in." I know that's not the only reason these particular women support her and certainly hope no one would choose a candidate based on just their gender. But, among women it certainly does help her win some supporters.

Now the trick is, if she should become the Dem nominee, to make sure all those women actually vote and don't just sit home talking about how they'd like her to win. But, I'm getting ahead of myself here...
