I think the voters who were duped into voting for this turd should recall him if he turns on us over the Iraq funding issue.

He doesn't represent his constituents, so I actually think the drive should begin immediately just because of his threats to turn.

1. One more time:
There is no recall for federal office holders.

2. You cannot recall US Senators
There is no law allowing for this in CT. There are some states that have such laws but previous Supreme Court decisions make them unconstitutional.

15. You cannot impeach US Senators
The Senate can expel a member with a 2/3 vote

3. No, let him change parties first.
He's going to anyway. Let him betray the voters.

4. absolutely
I thought he said point blank that he would not consider switching parties.

This is the final straw for me--he's not a goddamn Democrat and I don't want him associating with the party.

8. There is no constitutional process for recall of congress critters.
Connecticut law doesn't matter here.

7. Can't be done. However the senate could expel him.
Since he is playing games I see no reason why the Senate Democratic leadership ought not play right back and expel him from the senate. On the other hand it won't happen, as we have no courage, no stomach for dirty fighting.

Meanwhile, over in the house, regardless of the hideous whining Lieberman, a simple no vote on the next war appropriations bill would end the war.

10. Liberman
They were fools for voting for him in the first place. Now they are going to get what they deserve. I know it will hurt us in the long run as a majority.

18. Merely a senate rule.
Not a constitutional process. So as we learned from 2002: rules can be changed by a simple majority vote on a point of order and a reinterpretation, as in the threat to 'nuke the filibuster'. Like I said, it ain't going to happen because we have to stomach for dirty fighting.

19. No. It's in the Constitution.
Article I Section 5
Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two thirds, expel a member.

17. We aren't even close to a 2/3 majority. The Senate can't expel him.

11. CT has NO recall law
Since 2000 they have tried to pass recall laws but they never get out of committee. There are 13 states who have recall.
