Is There Any Way To Put Pressure On This Administration To Not Give Libby......
a pardon? Listening to Tweety - it is as if the talking heads have already convicted Libby and gave him a pardon. If *Co gives Libby a pardon - isn't it obvious that they think that they are above the law and they are just doing it to protect themselves. Is there any reason out there that it the *Co can't grant a pardon to Libby?

1. This administration?
The one who stole two elections...attempts to marginalize Democrats at every opportunity...says "Democrat" in place of "Democratic" just to get a snide comment in...let people drown in the streets of NOLA...
Of course they will pardon Libby...I personally think that the trial ended the way it did because too many Americans started paying attention and the WH sent word to team Libby of a pardon. Thus, it ended.

3. I Hear What You're Saying But Why Are We Just Going To Roll Over And....
play dead on this one. I know that this trial is only a purjury charge - but the underlying reason for the perjury had to do with a conspiracy in the WH to out a NOC and as a result her cover organization that basically was set up to find out about WMD and to start a pre-emptive war/occupation where 3140+ soldiers are dead and a large number that are seriously wounded, maimed, disfigured, and psychologically messed up for the rest of their days on earth.

Also - countless innocent Iraqi's are dead as a result.

We know now all that we thought was happening in the run up to the war were lies - are lies.

We were lied into this war. Our national treasury is depleted as a result (oh - I forgot Money Trumps Peace). Our reputation in the world is in the toilet - AND YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT WE ARE GOING TO TOLERATE A PARDON!!!!! AND TO BOOT - ARE WE JUST GOING TO SIT BACK AND LET *Co ATTACK IRAN?

I just don't get it. Why do we even blow our guts out here on DU. Nothing matters anymore. We're just going to roll over and let *Co pardon Libby - knowing full well what was going on in the WH during that period.

There has got to be some pressure that can come to bear on *Co that would prohibit them from giving Libby a pardon.

Somebody out there please give me some hope.

4. If he does it, as expected, on the last day of his presidency...
What pressure can be used? He'll do it and leave for his ranch of Paraguay. Yes, the president, in this regard, is literally above the law (if you consider the law the courts), he can pardon any federal crime without check, balance or limit.

5. Our Constitution allows for this
and "We the People"...only have one recourse. The question is, will we ever have the guts to do it?
Congress can only work within the framework of the Constitution.

2. Sadly, the president can pardon whoever he wants.
It's something I hate about the American system. It could be bad PR, but I expect it to be done after the 2008 presidential elections.

The bigger question is: Who else? Can you imagine Bush's list of pardons on the last few nights of his presidency? Corrupt CEOs, lobbyists, congresspeople, Libby, etc...

6. No Wonder People Run For The Presidency - It's Just An Excuse To....
lie, cheat, steal, start wars, kill, send others to their death - and have a "Get Out Of Jail" card when its all over.

Some democracy.

Hey Iraqi's - you thought Saddam was bad - just wait until you have *Co's form of government firmly in place.

I consider myself a Patriot for speaking out against all that has been going on since the 2000 coup d etat that put this corrupt adminstration in office. I am now totally disgusted and embarassed and ashamed to be an American in 2007.
