Join Senator Dodd - Restore Habeas Corpus
Dear xxxxx,
It was the Founding Fathers who eternally enshrined the Writ of Habeas Corpus into the Constitution.
They did it because the rule of law is an American value.
Since Senator Dodd introduced the "Restoring the Constitution Act of 2007," nearly fifteen thousand individuals have signed on as citizen co-sponsors or asked their personal networks to do the same.
Being early in the throes of a presidential campaign, pundits, press and prognosticators alike are watching every move. Let's show them all how important this bill is by doubling the number of citizen co-sponsors in the next twenty-four hours.
Can we count on you to inform your friends about the "Restoring the Constitution Act of 2007" and ask them to become citizen co-sponsors today?
http://ChrisDodd.com/Help_Restore_the_ConstitutionThis past weekend, the United States Senate debated whether or not to have a debate about Iraq.
In the end, semantic games and outright Republican obstruction carried the day over a real discussion about reform and redeploying our troops.
When the "Restoring the Constitution Act of 2007" comes to the floor we can expect the same treatment.
The sad fact is too many Americans have no idea how much damage the current administration has done to the Constitution and our reputation around the world.
But if you take the lead today, we can hope to change the course.
Please ask your personal networks to sign on as citizen co-sponsors to Senator Dodd's bill restoring Habeas Corpus, limiting presidential authority to interpret the Geneva Conventions and preventing the use of evidence in court gained through torture and coercion.
http://ChrisDodd.com/Help_Restore_the_ConstitutionThere has been a tremendous outpouring of support for the "Restoring the Constitution Act of 2007" over the last week. Let's keep it up over the next twenty-four hours.
We're in this together,
Tim Cullen
