McCain is going to crash and burn
How much longer do you think he can keep this charade up? A lot of McCain's support comes from independents and they're disgusted by his constant Bushlicking. Doesn't he realize by the now that he made a HUGE mistake kissing the Chimp's ass these past few years?

1. It's not just the Bushlicking
It's the Fartwell licking and Robertson licking and licking of all the RW nutjobs out there. Poor John. His tongue must be seriously sore.

2. Always bet on stupidity
McCain knows he can count on that 30% (or thereabouts) if he started buggering poodles on the Whitehouse lawn while confessing to being the Zodiac. Now he's just got to convince 20% plus one of the electorate to vote for him but he doesn't seem to realise that these antics only appeal to the batshit insane righties who were going to vote for him anyway.

3. McCain has twisted himself into a pretzel pandering.
It is a beautiful sight to behold!

12. Great minds think alike.
;-) I posted this picture the other day in response to his statement that Roe v. Wade should be overturned:

4. He's playing into Jeb Bush's hands!
Mark my words, the 21st Century Marx Brothers (John-o, Mitt-o, Newt-o and Rudy-o) are gonna tear each other to pieces and nobody will have a majority of delegates. Jeb Bush will sneak right in for the draft!

5. I don't think so. He would get creamed in the General Election.
NO WAY is this country going to vote for a Bush in 08.

6. I, for one, am glad to see his true colors shining through.
This extreme!conservative makeover McCain has given himself is not going to result in more votes from Republicans. In fact, many right-wingers that I know don't trust McCain and would vote for another Republican in a heartbeat. His main support came from independents and he can kiss that support goodbye the more folks get a taste of the McCain rhetoric.

His previous media-appointed label as "maverick" will cost him with Republicans and his hard-line stance on the war is going to cost him with independents. You can stick a fork in him, especially if Hagel decides to throw his hat into the ring.

7. I'm not so sure.
Obviously, his soul's sold -- as are so many.

If he got the nom, who the heck else are R-winger's going to vote for?

The R's CANNOT put up another R who does NOT appear MODERATE.

I'm not saying it's going to be McCain; but he looks to me like their best shot. Far enough from the center-of-slime to look like a fresh start.

I think they told him a couple of years ago that they'd give him a legitimate chance at it, and that's how they got him to toe the line.

And I think they thought they wouldn't actually have to accept him as their ultimate candidate, only now they've f----d themselves so bad that he might really be the only one they've got who could win. And faced with a Dem. Congress, the might rather not sacrifice the Pres'y.

9. He already has. Did you check out his Iowa town hall meeting?
I saw more than a few looks of uncomfortable embarrassment for him. And these were his supporters! He's done.

13. When a man who's hallmark is straight talk sells his soul to the devil, it's over.
But then again, what do I know. I consider myself a complete and utter failure at understanding the psyche of the average American voter.
