GEEZ-US!!!

Not feeling the love for the Clintons today. I wonder if Hillary Clinton wasn't a candidate in this race, if we'd be talking about Bill Clinton and his legacy digging up the past?!?

As far as the Hillary hatred, thats expected at DU. But it seems today the Clintons have targets on there back here at DU.

Whats the deal boys and girls?

What if you really, really, really distrust the nominee (and, no, I'm not speaking of HRC here)? There is one Dem candidate I simply couldn't even hold my nose and vote for should he be the nominee.

Not that it matters in my state.

But, I'm not going Nader. I'd write-in a candidate.

I would hate not to be able to vote for the Democrat - but I wouldn't, if I didn't trust the candidate.

It bothers me too
I see things about Hillary that are unfair or even untrue. Most of the hatred directed toward Hillary is the result of perceptions molded by right wing propaganda that was later repeated by the MSM. I've seen things that were on Rash Limbaugh years ago end up as topics at DU.

There are people here who just flat-out hate the Democratic party. And most

The good news is they're a minor nuisance and can be avoided.

that will best represent the American people in 2008 and many opinions that is not Hilary! There are a number of other candidates out there that are much more experienced than Hilary for the job as our elected official ... ie: /b I personally would rather see Barrack Obama or Bill Richardson as President than Hilary.. (I understand before you flame me, personal choice)

17. I understand that people want to promote their favorite candidates
and that's fine, but the relentless and sometimes unwarranted bashing of certain candidates (often Hillary, but others as well) is disturbing. I, for one, try to make a point of not unnecessarily bashing other Democrats. Obviously there are fair criticisms, but I don't enjoy the pure hatred that so many here project.

Also, if experience is most important to you, then Barack might not be your best choice, although I do agree that Bill Richardson has great credentials.

(Also, btw, you spelled Hillary and Barack incorrectly.)

15. who hates Hillary?
Edited on Sun Feb-18-07 11:04 PM by flaminbats
I love her, and think she is a great Senator. But not supporting her because I doubt she can win doesn't mean I "hate" her! If she provided a platform or some ideas I could either support or debate, then maybe I would consider voting for her.

http://www.hillaryclinton.com

Look at this website and then compare it to the sites of other Democrats like Vilsack and Richardson. Then you'll see why so few Democrats view Hillary as a good candidate. But I think all Democrats want to hear what Hillary stands for and to see her run a winning campaign against the rabid Republicans who have always hated her.

I haven't chosen my primary candidate yet, but I would get some sort of evil satisfaction if Hillary won the nomination and even more so the Presidency ( in a landslide)

Love to see the heads explode.

But seriously when McCain says he wants to overturn Roe, and when Mitt does the same, and when Rudy cries "terra terra"... that's the real reason I won't bash Senator Clinton, or any Democrat.

41. But we're not like republics marching in lock-step.
We do tend to make our opinions known to our Reps/Senators/Party and here on DU. No one deserves our undying support even if there's a D next to their name. Candidates must earn our respect. We'll never be repubics, we don't have "hive-think".

I would support Senator Clinton if she were our nominee no matter what. But I do not feel political/presidential dynasties are good for our country no matter what the candidate's last name is. That being said, I see Iraq and the economy/outsourcing/health insurance issues as being the most important this next election. Hillary has stated she would pull the troops out in 90 days after being elected. Fine. But I don't see Hillary as a populist who wants to help the middle and poor classes in this country. That is important to me as a voter. I will not support her in the primary because we have other candidates that have more progressive platforms. I'll vote for her if she's our nominee but will not contribute money to her campaign because she does not need my money (she may want it but she doesn't need my pitiful contribution)... she has big money on her side. I am not big money and have no expectation that she will represent me.

43. Or, we recognize that they are good at politics and wonder why they don't USE what
power they DO have to help other Democrats who were always there for them when THEY needed it.

The Clintons would NEVER have succeeded left to fend for themselves - they needed support from other Democrats and GOT it. Bush1 was PUMMELED for his entire term by Democrats and weakened to a 333% approval rating by election day 1992. And vets like Kerry gave Clinton full defense and cover when he was attacked by the GOP machine as a 'draft-dodger' unfit to be commander-in-chief.

The Clintons received constant support throughout Bill's terms in office, even during his wrongdoings.

They just seem to be incapable of reciprocating in kind.
