The GOPs'strategy against Kerry.....
is gonna be the Hanoi Jane connection-whether real or not and Kerrys'voting record.I say Kerrys' position should be"I vote my heart and do what I feel is best for the American people and my constituency and will not defend against every single attack that will be coming from Karl Rove and the republican smear machine"I suggest a blanket statement something like that.Just like Bush decided that HE wasn't going to get into his alleged drug use during the 2000 campaign.

1. That is not going to be their only stategy
But it is really Kerry's lack of strategy that is the problem. What is he going to run on? Surely not the war or the economy or the Patriot Act or No Child Left Behind or his military service or national security or social security or medicare or Kerry's non existant heathcare plan.

2. It's already started...very insidiously...
Paula Zahn, tonight. She's doing a profile on Jane Fonda all of a sudden.

Hmm. Jane Fonda. She's in the news or something, or is it "Interview Old Has-Beens-With-No-Projects-In-The-Pipeline" week? Jeezus, these guys suck. It is stuff like this that really makes me wonder how much we are just following the big script for the GOP, just the way they want us to.

4. That confirms it. Now with their worse fear Clark gone..
they can safely go after Kerry. If they had gone after Kerry with Clark in the race, they'd risk sending voters from Kerry to Clark.

5. If the GOP is stupid, they will try to resurrect "Hanoi" Jane
but that will reopen the Vietnam Pandora's box, which as I have posted several times already, will make both parties look bad.

If the GOP is smart, they will use Kerry against Kerry.

Pose a question on an ad about an issue, and then show the many ways in which Kerry has waffled and flip-flopped on every side of the issue. The idea is to puncture holes into Kerry's credibility until Kerry is made to appear less credible than Bush, who has some major credibility problems of his own.

6. Close, but I suggest one slight change in your advise
"I vote my heart and do what I feel is best for the American people and my constituency and I will defend against every single attack that will be coming from Karl Rove and the unAmerican republican smear machine, I will follow up immediately with every lie, falsehood, or obfuscation they put out about me and my fellow Americans. I will not let a protege of Nixonian "Dirty Tricks" define ME, or OUR campaign. They said they were going to restore honr and dignity to the White House, I will not only SAY that, I will actually DO it"

7. And Dem party's attack
will be on Bush's AWOL. If the Bush administration who have stated that this stuff from the past about Bush's AWOL should be eft in the past, they are going to have to leave Kerry's Vietnam past in the past. Remember it was those who prostested the war who won the fight to force the government to end it. That wasnt just Kerry and Fonda, those were the baby boomers, and their parents who upon seeing their kids dying in the tens of thousands, and coming home with serious psycholgical problems, ended up siding with the Kerry's and the Fondas by the time Kerry was protesting. It is why he is getting the massive wins all over the country now. If the little slips of paper showing Bush's National Guard salary are faked, Kerry will find out how. It is a place, in the end, they do not want to go. And no other candidate has a history that cannot be mined for dirt. Dean fell down easily, during the campign for nomination when Republicans attacked him his record and behavior, He could not stand up to media scrutiny of either his past, or his current performance. So there is not way that his campign would not wither against a Bush/Rove storm.
Edwards career before the Senate, plus his senate decision are just as easily mined. So was Clark as a general, Kucinich as a Congressman. And all but Clark and Edwards could be easily marginalized. Kerry has been attackled before, on all these issues, but people who have had better campaign machines that Bush or Rove could put togetther. Bush still is relying on many of the same people who have gone after Kerry on this stuff and failed every time.

Sorry, Kerry is best prepared out of all the candidates to stand up to whatever will be thrown at him
