Senator Lugar Does Not Support the Troops
This morning on "Face the Nation" Senator Lugar revealed that he did not support the troops. No he did not outright say that he did not support the troops, but in my opinion he said something that shows he does not support the troops. During a debate with Senator Joe Biden Lugar was asked if he would support a resolution similar to the one purposed by John Murtha. For those who have not heard of John Murtha's resolution it perposes an elimination to all forms of the stop-loss program. That would mean that the government would not be able to extend the tours of duty of soldiers who have completed their tours and would prevent the government from extending the military service of soldiers who have finished their four years. In addition, the government would be prevented from sending troops to Iraq unless they have all the equipment need to fight and/or win the war. Finally, the government would have to fully train all soldiers who are sent to Iraq. So, you would think that anyone who claims to support the troops would support a measure like this right. Well, not Senator Lugar.

In response to Bob Schieffer's question Lugar said no he would not support such a resoultion. So that in my opinion proves Lugar does not support the troops. How can anyone say they do not want a resolution to pass when it would not doubt help troops. Why should we be sending troops to Iraq who are not trained to fight a war, who do not have the equipment to fight a war and/or are who too fatigued, from having tours or duty, extended to fight a war? No matter whether someone feels Murtha is doing this to stop the war or not this is what should be done to support the troops. Senator Richard Lugor does not support the troops.

3. Murtha is right
Never send troops into battle without training or equipment. Never keep sending troops back without rest. Never lie to the troops about call backs or time in country. These are great points to stop the madness
