5. To be honest, this is not a good idea. It makes him look weak and
frankly, I don't think he'll do it. There isn't enough money or support out there. Look how he's showing in the last two races. There's no indication that he will make enough progress to take any of the Super Tuesday states.

Don't get me wrong, I love the man, but there's just not enough momentum unless something big breaks.

7. I would only support this
If Clark can get some new campaign managers to replace the current losers. I don't think they have served him well.

16. I've got a roll of foil riiiiight here....
Shall we all put on a new chapeau?

I can't TELL you how relieved I am to see that I'm not the only one to think he got screwed over by someone.

That entire "send a campaign staffer out to make the announcement" thing really just was not in character with the Gen Clark I've seen. On the CSPAN coverage of his speech last night he saw a woman crying in the crowd and had them go GET her and bring her over to him. He hugged her and told her not to worry...

Does this sound like the kind of guy who'd send a STAFFER out with that kind of news???

So, how do you make a foil beanie, anyhow?

Laura

10. Sounds like it.
On the other hand, Clinton may have called him to tell him to drop out.

17. You could say saboteurs but you'd be wrong
Perfect campaigns only happen on tv and in the movies. Political campaigns are equal parts luck, contacts and cunning. No one can be right all the time; no one can win all the time.

Should we have gone into Iowa? Maybe. And maybe Clark would have been totally blown out of the water. How could we spin a fifth place finish, especially behind Kerry and Edwards and Gephardt and Dean?

I notice that the people saying on tv that Clark should have been in Iowa are the same people who participated in the blacklist and lies that plagued the campaign. They aren't journalists, as I keep pointing out. They just play that role on TV.

Clark did a good job, under the circumstances, in coming this far in the face of an entire field of nationally known political figures who had been in this race for years, not five months. It is a shame that we didn't win but this whole campaign was a longshot from the beginning. Being unable to pull into second place in Tennessee, after all the work and effort that was put into it puts the handwriting right up on the wall. We didn't close the sale.

What I'd like to see? I'd like to see Clark go back to Arkansas and run for Senator. I'd like to see all those people who backed him in this race do the same thing there. Elect Clark and let the fox loose among the chickens.

And we could do the same thing a lot of places. Build an actual grassroots movement with money, skill and votes. Create an actual second party in this country.

We could call it the Democratic Party. Nobody seems to be using that name lately.

11. Just called
Live in NY and I wanted them to know that we would like our opportunity to vote for the candidate of our choice. If nothing else he should know how we feel and that we are still out here for him.
