Burton(R) apologizes to voters for missing so much work
Sort of-

When we last checked in with Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.), he was on the House floor noting how he had just been one of those lucky 68,000 or so Americans who had nabbed a ticket to this year’s Super Bowl. What he didn’t mention during that memorable floor speech was that he missed 19 votes in January to play in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

Burton on Monday apologized to his bosses (read: voters in his district) during an appearance on WIBC radio in Indianapolis: “I’d just say to my constituents that that was one of my mistakes that I’ve made that I shouldn’t have made and I apologize for it.

“I won’t defend what happened. ... But you show me any person that hasn’t had a mistake or hasn’t missed work once or twice because of something where they shouldn’t have and I’ll show you a perfect person, which I haven’t met,” he said.

3. Gee, I wonder how he was "lucky" to get a ticket to the SuperBowl ...
since I don't believe he's a season ticket holder (he couldn't be at each game and then get back to DC in time ... oh, wait, they didn't work on Mondays, right?).

Or maybe he is one of those who, as soon as they're in their office the very first day, they get a rep from the NFL waving SuperBowl tickets in their faces ... I mean, aren't the majority of NFL owners Republicons, Right?

7. I'm guessing the Irsays and the Burtons live in the same 'hood ...
... Hamilton County, Indiana ... where being arrested for Driving While Black isn't just an urban myth.

Unfortunately, I work here and have to deal with these inbred GOP rednecks.

8. Don't forget the dustup when Harry Reid of Nevada
got tickets to a boxing match ... I mean, it was the only one that they held, right? Aren't big time boxing matches scarce in Nevada?
