Now what?

Our primary is three months from today. Somehow, I think there will be approximately one candidate left at that time.

Ok, so out of that one candidate, who should I vote for?

;)

3. Your decision
What I plan to do myself is vote for Wes Clark, unless the primary race changes in such a way my vote is meaningful. As it looks now, that will not be an issue; if it becomes one, I'll use my primary vote differently and responsibly.

I need to vote for Wes Clark in the primary. It doesn't mean I won't support another candidate. It doesn't mean I won't vote for the nominee in November. This is just the way I have to do it. Wes earned my vote and I will pay up if I at all possibly can.

Good luck with your decision.

4. I agree on all points.
I was committed to Clark, but I'm just as firmly committed to getting Bush out of the WH. I'll vote for the nominee, but it would certainly still feel good to vote for Wes in the primary here.

5. It will feel very good
to vote for the candidate I wanted, even though he's out. I'm voting absentee in NY.

Vote Clark '08 . . . 4 years early! Show your support now!

7. as long as you guys
are comfortable with Kerry. I wouldn't say that voting for somebody is a waste when they are still in the race, but when they're already out?

Of course, it's your vote; your choice.

6. Vote for a debate on the issues, if you're in WI -- ie, vote Edwards.
People are jumping on a bandwagon and not debating issues.

To beat Bush, we have to have a debate on the issues first. People need to know what Democrats stand for, and it's WAY more than simply being against Bush.

As LBJ said, nobody ever won an election by being against things. You win elections based on what you stand for.

8. you generally seem to ignore Dean when you make these statements
Dean debates the issues too. And, in case you haven't noticed, he's still in it. He's 2nd. He sure as hell isn't jumpin on the bandwagon.

14. Here what the debate would sound like
with just Kerry and Edwards

Kerry: my opponent voted for IWR
Edwards: So did you and you voted for the Patriot Act
Kerry: Like you didn't too. Let's talk about NCLB. It needs to be fixed.
Edwards: Then why did you vote for it?
Kerry: Beats me, probably the same reason you did.
Edwards: I think the real message is, I'm a southern and the son of a mill worker
Kerry: No the real issue is I'm a veteren
Edwards: I'm better looking
Kerry: I'm more statesmen-like

American voter: :boring:

9. Boxster, I'm sorry
I really like Clark and truly wished he would stay in. He has made a tremendous contribution to the process and I hope he will continue to do so. Only you can decide who you will eventually support.

11. Thanks. Although I'm a big Clark supporter, I have the luxury of
liking most of the other candidates, as well. I'm impressed with the incredible depth in our candidates this election cycle, and it gives me hope that we'll be seeing a new face in the White House next January.

10. LaRouche may still be on the ballot :)
Just kidding.

Likely, Clark will still be on the ballot. If you've supported him thus far, I say vote for him.

I was originally not going to vote in Wisconsin's primary once Clark dropped out, but I am reconsidering and will go and vote for Clark.

13. Yep, supported him since day one. Before day one, in fact.
I remember the first couple of times I saw him on CNN as a military analyst. I thought, "Damn, that guy is smart."

I did some research on him then, even before the rumors began about his potential candidacy. I was elated when he finally decided to run. I thought, "This is it!"

And, it was. He did a great job for a political rookie, better than nearly everyone expected (except for us, of course - we wanted it all!) He got me more excited about politics and the political process than I've ever been before, and that's not an easy task, as I've always been a political junkie.

I agree with Wes Jr. in that this could have been a whole different ball game had Clark campaigned in Iowa. *Sigh*

Yep, I'll likely still vote for him here in NE in May.

15. Mine's in May too
I never expected to have a vote that mattered from the beginning. I don't know what the big deal is now. Nothing's changed.
