22. You know, for me he isn't. Really.
Here's why. To my knowledge, there were never any dirty tricks coming out of the Leiberman campaign. If, as it appears to me, he ran a clean campaign, that puts him head and shoulders above Kerry.

3. I am...
...I don't know anything about him personally but some his public acts have been brave, some of his public stands righteous. I recognize he's been swimming in shark infested waters for 20 some odd years and sometimes you gotta go along to get along and live to fight another day. This election isn't the time for absolutism or purity. I don't know if this makes me a 'fan'; probably not, but I sure am gonna vote for him...

4. Oh now, this appears to be
blown way out of proportion. Kerry's issues need to be reviewed. Just because the information is not coming from a "head in the sand" prospective, does not constitute bashing. This is America still, not the DLC Provence.

10. Blown out of proportion?
This is America, but we must concede to the rule of common sense.

Kerry's a media darling and that's why he's winning
Kerry's in Skull and Bones
Kerry's Bush Lite
Kerry's a disgusting Insider
Kerry's a republican in sheep's clothing
Kerry's a DLC clone
Kerry hates Gays
And on and on and on...

This is not substantiated policy discussion. This is just smearing, whether it's out of anger because your candidate isn't doing as well, whatever reason, it's not exactly a "review of issues."

40. Ya know what else is offensive?
When someone makes a choice to support a different candidate than before and labeled "weak" or suspected as "never a 'REAL' supporter".

THAT'S offensive.

8. Only thing to do is POST PRO-KERRY THREAD and kick others back to page 1
by adding your 2 cents.

There is so much at stake in this election we can expect a landslide
of subtle slimy stuff from every imaginable channel and you can
believe that Dems are going to be best at smearing it around.

Just have to patiently put out good information in a credible way.

17. Good advice, WiseMen.
We Democrats will have to fight hard--whoever is the nominee-against the onslaught of slime from the Rethugs-- led by Karl Rove and RNC head, Ed Gillespie. They have shown they will stop at nothing to win elections.

We must all join together to defeat the BFEE and set this country back on course and regain our respect in the world.

12. 100% behind Kerry
And I have been since early summer, so I'm no 'sheeple'. First post on this board, so this is a good place for it. From a purely ideological standpoint I'm closer to Kucinich, but realities imo make Kerry the far better GE candidate. And having known of him since VVAW and BCCI, I think in office he'll pull no punches in moving the country forward.

14. In a way
I understand the disappointment of the folks who supported a candidate who probably isn't going to be nominated (Ya, I know, it's not over yet). If Kerry wins the nom, this will be the very first year I've ever had the opportunity to vote FOR a presidential candidate, rather than AGAINST the alternative.

21. I'm a Kerry fan, not exclusively
I was planning to vote Clark in my state's late-ass primary, but I guess I won't now. He and Kerry were always neck-and-neck for my top spot. If a Kerry nomination is certain, I might as well vote for Kucinich in the primaries to give him a bump.

One thing I can say for certain: I'm tired of all the sentiment on DU that Kerry is equivalent to or worse than Dubya. Only the most simplistic analysis of the facts leads to that conclusion.

37. Checking in myself
I signed up with the campaign in Feb. 2003, so I've been here a long time. I am a Fox Valley Coordinator for the Campaign here in Wisconsin so I have worked my ass off for the campaign and never gave up even when Dean was the frontrunning, surging, leader of the pack.

Funny how Dean was the only choice according to some DU members, until Kerry started winning and then people that made a choice based on who they could vote for in the GE, now it's a conspiracy or the people are sheep.

The media "annointed" Dean first, he just dropped the ball.

Let's face reality. JK's speeches, his ads, they've been great. The Kerry grassroots continues to grow and have made a presence (Dean shipped thousands of people in for the Iowa JJ dinner and we matched them person for person at the event even though they had all the money and the big signs and such).

Give JK some credit for getting his message out there. People have mentioned that there's not a whole lot of policy difference on the major issues amongst the Dem candidates, so for a lot of people the intangibles are worth casting the deciding vote for. Kerry's leadership in Congress, and Vietnam experience is one hell of an intangible.

It's not being a sheep, it's voting for the one that stands out best.

Rp

In my eyes he's our Sherman. Not easy to relate to for everyone, tactically a mix of brilliant and disappointing personally, but strategically so superior that every campaign ends in decisive victory and a complete step closer to winning the war.

Need I mention that Dubya is a remarkably perfect second coming of John Bell Hood?
