2. We should have a "crystal ball" thread: we should post
all the things Wes has "predicted" years before the fact and the post when the event actually took place.

It's kind of scary how correct he usually (always) is. If I believed in fortune tellers, I'd say he should go into that line of work. :7

12. That's actually a pretty good idea.
I'd start with PNAC and the plan to occupy 8 arab state, then the phone from Rove to talk about Iraq after 9.11 (he was called crazy for both those). There are probably more from earlier on.

15. Oops, let's not spread George Will's lies
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 05:34 PM by Jai4WKC08
Clark never said he got a call from Rove. He said the message of linking 9/11 to Saddam was coming from the White House. THEN he said, "I got a call..." He was talking about a call from an Israeli think tank in Canada. It was Will who re-wrote the interveiw, swapped the order of Clark's sentences, and made it sound like he was claiming Rove (or someone at the White House) had called him.

But that said, you're absolutely right that he was spreading the word about both the PNAC agenda and the 9/11=Saddam lie very early, and he was called a loonie for both of 'em.

Frenchie posted something a while back about a slate.com (Sullenthrope? Am I getting that name right?) column where he claimed Clark had said six things that were outrageous. I think the headline was "Wes Clark's loose lips" or something like that. Of course, now, almost four years later, we know they were all true.

16. cuz he's in the know!!!
see my edited 7 min video on youtube "clark call to arms" of another gentleman's 30 min recording of him discussing shrubya. I'm sure you've probably seen it, but maybe others haven't, if they haven't if you have plenty of time, find the full 30 minute Iowa speech on youtube that the very nice guy took for all of us last year!

Wes is the man, because he basically IS/WAS in the military way up and plans are usually made way in advance

3. Maxine was great. She mentions Iran AND Syria as possible Bush targets.
The congresswoman had no problem in stressing the point that Iraq is "Bush's war".

9. Yep, it's good that at least some are worried about our future....
...and not just their own.

Maxine rocks, though! I love how she credited our General.

Here's my little transcript of the exchange:

Chris: Do you believe the President has the Constitutional authority to launch a war against Iran without Congressional approval?

Maxine: Oh absolutely not. As a matter of fact General Clark and some others saw this coming and they have been talking with many of us about directing our attention toward the fact that the President was moving toward Iran and so many of us are saying to the President through letters and through actions: Don’t do it Mr. President! Don’t. We believe that you should be involved with diplomatic efforts with Iran. We cannot afford to sustain this war in Iraq and Afghanistan and go into Iran and then take on Syria. This doesn’t make good sense. We can’t afford to do that.

Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 05:09 PM by Jai4WKC08
I thought I'd taped it, but had something screwed up, 'cause all I got was my blank dvd screen.

I liked that bit a lot. The music "choices" for Obama and Clinton were perfect, but even better was when they threw up the single picture of Clark, Edwards, Obama and Clinton together. Pretty much said, these FOUR are the "real" canidates. Heh.

14. Hmmm...7'17" for the Repub and 2'14" for the Dem
This show should be called "Hardrightball"

Not only that but MSNBC cut Ms. Waters off in mid-sentence before she had a chance to finish.

17. If only Edwards, Hillary, and some other senators had not turned a deaf ear to Clark's warnings
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 08:39 PM by Clarkie1
in 2002, the world might be a very different and more peaceful place today. It's to bad more senators did not take the issue of war and peace as seriously senator Kennedy and others did when they took Clark's advice and voted against the blank check IWR.

I'm glad to hear great representatives like Maxine Waters are listening again this time around.
