The Most Offensive Thing I've Ever Read - Dinesh D'souza
http://newsmax.com/archives/articles/2007/2/6/153042.shtml?s=lh

OK, I know this guy is an obvious asshat, but wow. Just wow. I'm impressed by how big of an asshat he is. The bar was set pretty high by O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Coulter, but D'souza has outshined them all.

To actually accuse "the Left" (because we're so powerful and sinister) of wanting to "work with the enemy abroad in order to defeat the enemy at home." Wow. Just wow. People have implied this in the past. People have danced around it. But that was mainly during the start of the war. That was before the Republicans fucked up everything possible. To do it now, shows either remarkably poor judgement or more likely, prudent business sense. Just say outrageous shit in a book and launch a career as an extreme right-wing pundit. The more outrageous the better. Who knew who this guy was before he started blaming the Liberals for 9/11?

Here is interesting paragraph from his article:

"If Bush is defeated in Iraq he could go down in history with a reputation as bad as Nixon's and conservative foreign policy could be set back for another generation. Some on the left may be quite willing to give up the whole Middle East for this."

Give up the Middle East? Oh, I didn't realize it was ours. When did we get it? As for Bush's tarnished reputation, I wonder if his administrations' actions had anything at all to do with that. I wonder if the cronyism, corruption, sex scandals, fear mongering, bullying, etc etc etc had ANYTHING at all to do with his low approval ratings. Or the fact he put us in a war with no plan for victory and for the wrong reasons. I wonder if that might be why the number of people discussing impeachment are increasing every day?

Robert Novak, move over. Dinesh D'Souze has seized your throne: Douchebag of the Year.

1. How do these morans
continue to get book deals, radio shows, television shows and guest shots on alleged mainstream media?

I am thinking about writing a vile lie filled right wing screed just to make a quick million or so just so I could get a coveted spot on The Situation Room.

5. i've had that thought many times
if it weren't for this damn soul I have, I would have done it a long time ago. It must be very freeing to have no conscience, soul or morals to hinder your financial success...

2. The right wing is just collapsing
They don't know whether to accuse the left of being too in love with freedom or too in love with repression. They say one thing on Monday, the complete opposite on Tuesday. D'Souza, who has found a lucrative niche ever since his college days in spouting bullshit pleasing to repressives, has alternately defended his crappy little book and tried to distance himself from it (I guess claiming that he misquoted his own thoughts or something, I haven't bothered to try to figure it out).

Anyway, the air pressure outside his empty skull will surely cave it in someday soon.

7. Actually
I'd be more than happy if Bush's war set the conservative movement back at least for the rest of my lifetime. However, I have no control whatsoever over what goes on in the Middle East, and unlike Bush, I care about the people getting killed there -- American and Iraqi.

9. My first thought on reading the words "work with the enemy abroad
in order to defeat the enemy at home" is that it sounds like something the neo-cons would try. So D'Douche is just doing that old projection thing again?

15. some 'gems' from the piece
oh, and it BEGINS with, "The Nancy Pelosi Democrats...", a fine indication of what is to come. this guy is an equal-opportunity bigot alright. wow.

"the antiwar movement generated by opposition to the Vietnam war greatly fortified other social movements that were gathering momentum at the time, such as the women's rights and the gay rights movements."

"The political left, with its powerful allies in the media" ? WHAT 'allies in the media'?

"the left during the Vietnam era was able to make permanent changes in American society. Gender relations were transformed. Homosexuals came out of the closet. Abortion on demand became not only legal, but interwoven with the lives of millions of Americans."

"It is Bush, not Bin Laden, who threatens with one more Supreme Court appointment to jeopardize the left's hard-won social victories of the past generation." <=-- a bit of TRUTH!

16. Every third rate ...
hack who has some sort of mental delusion writes a "conservative" hit job book, gets a couple millions right wing followers to mindlessly read the crape, and then earns his/her way into the "left controlled media" ...

There truly seems to be an ENDLESS stream of these mutants ...
