Please STOP trying to recruit us!
Please give us Clark supporters ONE day to digest what has happened. Most all of us are in no shape to jump on anyone else's bandwagon at this point.

I honestly can't stand to see one more "hey, join us" or "buck up for the party's sake" posts here tonight.

I realize your intentions are sincere, but it's just all too much tonight.

Please respect all of us Clark supporters enough to us some time.

Thank you to the rest of you that have expressed such kind thoughts to all of us Clark supporters. It's deeply appreciated!

5. Hey AnnitaR
My thoughts, condolences, and heartfelt sorrow is with you. I can imagine how disappointing it is. I am in the "anyone but Bush" camp only because I'd literally go crazy if I wasn't. I don't root for anyone right now - just against - and that's a position I never thought I'd find myself in. Take care and...and....I don't know. I'm still grieving from 2000 so I sure as hell can't tell you to get over it or that you will get over it. Just know that my prayers are with you.

Reading your post was the first time I've smiled tonight! I sincerely appreciate it.

I'll move past this... it's just getting past the first couple of days.

Thanks again for such a nice post.

7. Agreed. And just plain silly.
I think DU Clark supporters will be perfectly capable of choosing where they place their support if and when Clark leaves the race, and even autonomously from any recommendation that Clark may make.

If someone posts a thread asking for help in figuring what to do, respond. Otherwise, give it a rest.

3. I'd appreciate your vote.
Write in "cynicalSOB1," it'll be a vote you won't forget or regret for that matter.

Otherwise, I agree with you, no one should be doing it at this point.

4. Yes, it is tacky -- and insensitive
And I apologize for those who are trying to do it, whether Dean supporters or others.

You are entitled to mourn and grieve without harrassment, and preferrably with a little support from the rest of us.

9. I wish people weren't such idiots
Seriously .. it is hard for me to imagine that people recruiting tonight are genuine. As a Dean supporter, I really don't want to 'own' the ones who say they are for Dean as being Dean people. I'm going to live in my fantasy world where all these people are either lacking in intelligence to the point where I would excuse their behavior as a disability or they are lying jerks. Anywho, here is to hoping that people in general are respectful and have at least a modicum of social grace.

10. May I respectfully disagree?
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Clarkie too, but I'm ripe for the picking.

I'm hungry, and I want to contribute. Sure, I'm in mourning, but I'm ready to fight!!

I'm a Dem, before anything else. And I want us to win, dammit. So, Edwards, Dean, and Kerry fans... pitch me. I'm young, I'm willing, and I'm a fighter. I'll work, I'll contribute... but if you voted for IWR, it's gonna take just a minute for me to come around...

17. Well dammit
I just posted that we should leave you people alone and now I have to break my own word. You want a fight. We fight.

The Wednesday before Iowa, from a fellow Kerry supporter:

"It's only Wednesday. There are five more days of unbridled insanity left, and it's our job to fight that insanity. This isn't fun time any more. This is game time, and we need to have our game faces on no matter where we are or what we're doing. We need discipline. We need commitment. We need selflessness. We need sacrifice.

Let's Ignore the polls and the rumors and the wounds yet to come, and show the world what we can do when the campaign is on the line. Let's finish strong, so no matter what happens, not a single one of us ever has to wonder what more we could have done."

And to tell you the truth, the fight is the best reason I can give you to support John Kerry.

I'd like to reply to you.

However, I also respect the wishes of the poster of this thread. I really do understand the need here for some rest time.

If you'd like to start another thread with your request, I'm sure you'll find many people who would like to respond.

Just not on this thread. Please.

12. Clark Has Not Died, No Reason To Be Sad
Greatness does not end. Clark will influence us all for the best. This is not the end.

Leadership is about being a person with a vision. Clark's vision lives, people rule.

13. No recruiting, you are right.
I do want to say that I am very sad, and I mean it. The ups and downs are so painful, and I was not prepared how badly we felt tonight.
Hang in there.

15. My apologies
For any goofball Kerry supporters doing that.

:spank: Kerry supporters. STOP IT!!

You guys will all do what your conscience tells you. You're a great bunch of supporters and I really admired you're spunk over the weekend. That's the kind of fight we'll need to beat Bush, no matter who the candidate is.

And who knows what tomorrow will bring anyway.

16. Just one more voice in agreement
I'm glad you posted this. It's highly insensitive for *anyone* to be pressuring you at this point.

As I said in another thread, just be good to yourself right now, and give yourself whatever time and smelling of the roses you need in order to regroup.

You've fought the good fight, and have given it your all. You can't do more until you get some of that "all" back.

Hugs all around....:grouphug:

Rest well.

Kanary

19. God. SO AGREED. Can the Kerry supporters lay off for JUST a minute?
You guys are so over the top.

That is one reason why I will not vote for Kerry unless I feel there is NO OTHER choice.

What a great reason to vote for a candidate. Not because I believe for one minute he would be a good leader, but because I feel that I have no other choice.

Hes no Clark and hes NO Dean.

I'm taking my time. I am debating between a couple and I have to make up my own mind in my own good time and I have till March (CA primary) to do it by then I probably won't have a choice left anyway.

24. If Dean had dropped out tonight
I'd still be voting for Dean come March 16th. His name will still be on the ballot regardless of any changes to his status between now and then.

That's just my take on the situation.
