Edwards supporters - Difference between Edwards and bush re: Iraq invasion
Edited on Wed Feb-11-04 01:49 AM by nu_duer
Word is, as I type, 20 more dead in blast. Americans, I don't know, but people for sure.

Before anyone is annointed, appointed or nominated, could someone please spell out why Edwards is better on the issue than bush?

As far as I can tell, Edwards still supports invading Iraq.

Could someone please tell me how Edwards, as Nom or VP, would differentiate himself, and - by that time, ourselves as an opposition party, from the currently official bush argument that, lack of wmds be damned, invading was the right thing to do?

1. Edwards has been more vocally proud of his vote

if anything, he seems more hawkish on the issue than anyone other than Lieberman, though that's debatable. It's been rather disgusting really, and demonstrates his callow, opportunistic, and thoroughly conventional outlook.

Disclosure notice: I am not an Edwards supporter.

2. I've been saying this all along!
Edwards is just as pro IWR as Lieberman, so why does he get a pass?

Besides the fact, he knows zilch about foreign policy.

3. Edwards' IWR stance..
and his position on gay rights (doesn't support full rights or civil unnions, AFAIK) keep me from being able to support him in the primaries.

4. Don't forget his progressive views
on the drug war, and the death penalty.

5. I think Kerry is just as bad on the..
WOD and has waffled a bit on the death penalty (supports it for terrorists now).
