The worst part about Wesley Clark dropping out...
...is that Karl Rove will sleep a little sounder tonight. Ol' Karl did NOT want a piece of the General in the general.

7. Rove would have hated to go up against Clark, that's for sure
Maybe he'll still have to...I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the General will be the VP choice of the eventual nominee (and that he'll accept any offer, of course!). It would be great to have Clark in the administration, but as much as I think he'd be a natural for Sec. of State, I think he'd be a great, maybe even essential asset as part of the ticket, to get us into the White House in the first place.

was definitely my back-up candidate. Darn.

He should get a raise, honestly.

The release of the "I heart Condi and Colin" Clark speech comes to mind. And, hey, it's tough to defend a draft-dodging AWOL intellectual midget like Bush, anyway. About two minutes out of every day, I feel a teensy bit sorry for Karl. Tough work, even when you can find it.

17. Cheney won't be on the ticket
I'd like to see that, too, but I don't expect Cheney to be on the ticket come the GE. He'll likely be the scapegoat for much of the Administration's woes -- sans indictments.

19. s'possible...
but I still think Cheney will be the running-mate unless he gets indicted. Changing Veeps now would be a real sign of despair for Bush.

I think there's a 70% chance Cheney stays on the ticket.

28. Kerry won't choose Clark, Clark would actually try to change thinks
He's gonna choose Edwards, who will get creamed by Cheney in a debate.

Clark was their worst nightmare. No one will ever be able to convince me otherwise.

There were a lot of happy folks in the White House tonight.

Aww shit, here come the tears again...

25. I here ya...
Just when I think they'll stop, it starts all over.

I know everyone's trying to be nice (and court us) but I have this horrible, sick feeling that won't go away. It's like watching your family drive off a cliff, and all you can do is watch.

Wes Clark gave me hope and has inspired me to do more and be more than I ever thought I could. And with a wink & nod, the DNC took that away. I feel like the DNC used him for credibility and then spat on his candidacy. And nothing any gung-ho "other" supporter can say will convince me that we will get our country back and that as is well. Sorry, I am despondent & Wes Clark as Secretary of State or National Security Adviser ain't gonna win the Whitehouse for the "other" candidate. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so...

Think about it. Wouldn't that be absolutly deeeelishous?

21. True
The worst part about Wesley Clark dropping out... is that Karl Rove will sleep a little sounder tonight. Ol' Karl did NOT want a piece of the General in the general.

True that Karl didn't want to have to face Clark in the GE, but I don't know about how much, if anything, this may improve his sleeping habits. Clark can and most probably will feed the nominee the evil truth that he knows about. Karl may sleep a teensy bit better knowing he won't have to face him in the GE, but I doubt he'll escape what Clark's got in his head... and me thinks Karl's bigger fear is what's in Clark's head.

Karl - you shoulda tried harder to sway the General to your side, and I'm sure you've kicked your own ass over that till it's one massive bleeding hemorrhoid and you can't sit comfortably for the rest of your nasty natural life... nightie night and no comfy butt pillow for the undeserving. heh heh

22. something tells me that Rove still is squirming in his
sleep tonight. Each candidate that drops out takes with them the priviledge of knowledge, which they can speak at any cost, and freedom...ahhhhh, yes, freedom...freedom to CONTINUE to speak out against Bush without having to look over their shoulder.

23. Will, I'm not sure Karl is sleeping all that well, nor should he,
Edited on Wed Feb-11-04 03:00 AM by LandOLincoln
because I'm convinced he hasn't seen the end of Wes Clark by any means, and I think he knows it.

I'm thinking that as soon as Kerry gets the nod, he'll not only announce his choice of running mate but also his shadow cabinet: Wes for State (or NSA?), Max Cleland for Def, Edwards for AG (unless he's the running mate), Dean for HHS, Gep for Labor, Bobby Jr. for Interior, etc. etc.

Well, a girl can dream, can't she? Sure beats crying. I've done enough of that tonight.

Anyway, whaddaya think?

26. The fact that it was so obvious
that the corporate media and the RW didn't want a piece of the General in the general was one of the biggest reasons why I supported him so strongly.

I heard saw all of the suspicions that he was really a Republican plant when he first entered and throughout his campaign, and frankly if the media had treated him more kindly, I would have been a little suspicious myself, but the way he was treated by the media made it absolutely bleeding obvious that he was the last person Karl Rove wanted to face.

27. Karl still has one problem
His own client is still a weak candidate.

Bush is slowly imploding before our eyes, and let's face it, they are running a pretty bad re-election campaign so far.

Regardless of how much money he raises, Bush is seriously doomed to failure.

Still would have liked to see that debate.
