The plan is you cute Medicare to older Americans, making it harder for them to get the health care they need. So they die sooner, less people in the population, right?
"Portman said Bush's budget submission contains about a 1 percentage point cut in the rapid growth in Medicare - which averages almost 8 percent a year without changes - to squeeze about $66 billion in savings over five years from the federal health care program for the elderly.

Bush would curb payments to health care providers such as hospitals, and would require more of the higher-income recipients to pay greater premiums."

The next step is to use the money from Medicare to fund more troops in Iraq, where you send younger Americans to their death as cannon fodder. Once again decreasing the population!

This came to me in a moment of unclarity this morning, I am at work upgrading a server. My stepfather, who is on Social Security and Medicare asked me to not send him my ranting about the criminals in the White House and that got me thinking about why he would support people that are trying to send him to an early grave.
