My candidate is out and I still have to vote
What will you do? Right now, I have no clue. My opinions of the other front runners has been seriously diminished in the past few weeks. I have never missed an election since I was eligible to vote in 1976. I thought I was ABB, but ...

20. Kucinich is great -- but
I was in college when he was in Cleveland. Kucinich has great ideas but middle America isn't ready for them.

27. Kucinich might be a good choice
he's not going to get the nomination, but he has important things to contribute to Democratic party discourse and every vote that he gets helps to strengthen his hand.

3. I don't know.
Undecided. I may still vote for Clark. Kerry, Edwards and Kucinich all have a shot with me. I don't know about Dean.

22. Bleachers please consider John Edwards.
I really believe in this guy. Please see my other post in this thread titled "Please Consider Edwards" to see why.

I'm interested in knowing what you think.

Thanks.

5. Hang in there Fl Dem. I know it hurts. Remember, though,
who the REAL enemy is. I haven't yet given up hope that I will be chanting "President Edwards!" next November. But even if I have to chant "President Kerry", it still beats the hell out of having to acknowledge "President Bush" :puke:

Go Edwards! Go Dems! Dubya, just go away!

ABB, ABB, ABB, ABB, ABB

:kick:

7. NJ Primary
Its the worst thing in the world living in NJ during primary season...I really feel like I have no voice. Chances are by the time the primary rolls around there will only be one candidate left standing. However this will be my first presidential primary and I'm not going to miss it for anything and I will vote my conscious just because it is the right thing to do

17. I feel your pain.
I'm in NJ too. By time our primary rolls around in June, it's all over.

I did hear rumors about moving up the NJ primary to Feb. or March. I'd love to see NJ be part of the mini-Super Tuesday in early Feb. We are such a microcosm of America here in such a small state with a relatively big population. Let a candidate come here and campaign early. Then you'd have a truer sense of how well he'll play nationally.

6. Clark write-in in primary, maybe the same in GE
I'll be writing in "Clark" for Illinois' primary; and may do the same come November, depending on the expected margins.

8. Sorry about Clark leaving the race
The media and party leadership pushed him aside to prop up Kerry. It's unfair. I'm not going to make any pitch on policy to try to convince you to vote for Dean. I'm going to say this...Dean and Clark were in the same boat with the shunning of the media and party leadership. Just like we Dean supporters are fighting the good fight to reclaim the power for the people, so were you Clark supporters. If you want to send a message to the powers that be you should vote for Dean, because he's got the second highest delegate count. He still could beat Kerry if things turn around for him. If people like you help us Dean supporters out by joining forces to stop the insanity of the party elites controlling and influencing OUR nomination process, we could make it happen. We have to stop these power hungry party insiders from stealing our voice! This is starting to be about principle just as much as policy, if not more so. We had the 2000 election decision snatched away from the people and we cannot let the DNC and DLC do the same damn thing with the nomination election!

10. Still ABB but my phone is off the hook until November
I supported Clark because I couldn't see one candidate among the others who I thought stood a chance of beating Bush.

Nothing I've seen since November has changed my opinion one iota.

If Bush doesn't do something amazingly stupid and offensive as to boggle the mind, I think he has a good shot at being reelected.

Too bad.

The United States could have used a real President. Now that chance is gone.

Bye bye, Wes. You did the best you could but it just wasn't in the cards.

Thanks for the run.

Now go home and play with the grandson.

15. I'm voting a week from today!
and I have no clue what I'm going to do.

I don't even know what I'm going to do tomorrow night, when we were supposed to be at the rally with Wes Clark. I was finally going to get my books signed... and my daughter was going to get the Wes Swimsuit photo signed. How's that for thinking of the important things, when the future of our country is swirling down the drain?

This weekend, my plans revolved around Clark's plans - Mr. Vote will be in Daytona, so I was going to play groupie and follow Clark around the state and to the debate.

Tomorrow I'll have to start hauling my stuff home from the campaign office, I guess. Maybe I'll take a case of beer along. :(

16. Please consider Edwards
I know it must be disappointing to have believed so much in someone, and now he's out. However, I know General Clark doesn't want Bush in the White House again. Clark loves this country too much for that.

Let me tell you why I really believe in John Edwards and why I think he is the candidate who will beat George Bush.

1.) John Edwards really connects with ordinary Americans. When I was home in Ohio, I had Democrats and moderate Republicans alike tell me, "You know who I like, John Edwards." In the general election, people vote for the candidate they think is the most likeable, genuine, and sincere not for the candidate with the longest resume.

2.) John Edwards could be this generation's John Kennedy. He truly inspires people with his vision for one America. He is the candidate who best articulates the reasons I am a Democrat and he is the most effective spokesman for progressive values. I also like the way he talks about our moral responsibility to lift families out of poverty.

3.) John Edwards has a positive, optimistic message. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton had two things in common: they were both elected and re-elected and they were both famous optimists. I think Edwards' positive and uplifting style has the potential for ameliorating some of the divisevness and meanness in Washington.

4.) John Eduards is tough and persuasive. He made a career of taking on corporations and convincing juries to vote his way. Undoubetedly, meny of those jurors were Republicans with a mistrust of lawyers yet he won them over nearly everytime.

5.) John Edwards is the son of a mill worker. He has lived the American dream and wants to see to it that every American has the same opportunity. His upbringing contrasts sharply with Bush's aristocratic upbringing. It will be musch more difficult for Republicans to paint him as an elitist who is out of touch with ordinary Americans.

6.) John Edwards will compete with Bush in every state and he will force Bush to spend resources in the South.

7.) I know Edwards doesn't have as much foreign policy experience as Clark, but he has enough experience from his five years in the Senate to be credible on defense. He has travelled to Afghanastan, Pakistan, the Middle East and he has met with world leaders from around the world.

8.) John Edwards does not have a 19 year voting record in the Senate that cand be used against him.

In short, John Edwards has the vision, good looks and charisma of John Kennedy and the intellect, energy and raw political talent of Bill Clinton.

Listen to him speak sometime and see if you agree.

In the meantime, don't despair we really do need to pull together in November no matter who our nominee is.

Until Wes Clark entered the race. The sad thing is that my opinion of John Edwards has dropped a lot in the past few weeks.

Just kidding. I actually will be in the Edwards' corner now, as he has been my number 2 choice.

It feels weird to me to know which camp I'm heading to so quickly...but it's been in the back of my mind for awhile now...

23. Couldn't have said it better myself.
To all the Clark supporters, most JRE supporters had Clark as our #2.

I know we have had our tiffs on this message board, but that's what happens when you are so involved with a candidate.

I honestly feel that JRE is the only candidate left that can beat *. That is why I hope you will consider him, because a Democratic WH is a billion times better than a * WH!

26. Your lucky
I don't even get a primary vote. The repukes in my state took away our primary, and we don't have the caucus until April. Everything will already be decided by then anyway.

If I did have a primary vote I would probably go ahead and vote for Clark, even if I had to write him in. It would have been nice to have been able to cast at least one vote for him.
