Ten Who Again Voted Against Minimum Wage Increase
With cloture reached on the Senate's version of the minimum wage bill that easily passed the House of Representatives earlier in the month, a vote on the measure to increase the federal minimum wage to $7.25 per hour will occur -- and pass, I predict -- by the end of the week.

Who were the final GOP holdouts in trying to continue the screwing of America's working poor? Here they are:
  • Burr (R-NC)
  • Chambliss (R-GA)
  • Coburn (R-OK)
  • DeMint (R-SC)
  • Ensign (R-NV)
  • Gregg (R-NH)
  • Inhofe (R-OK)
  • Isakson (R-GA)
  • Kyl (R-AZ)
  • Vitter (R-LA)
Now there's a list to keep handy, while making a special note of Chambliss and Inhofe, who are up for reelection in 2008.

8. They DON'T hate middle America
They hate the poor......whether it's the working poor or the homeless. They could care less. Have you ever heard ANY of them talk about the homeless? Hell no......not one politician ever mentions the tens of thousands who have no place to live.

5. $8 billion more tax cuts
That's ridiculous. Are the tax cuts going to go in over 3 years like the minimum wage? By the time this gets all the way to the $7.00 hr, it's going to be worth less than $5.15 today.

9. We can dump Infofe with your help
and other activists. I hear some Enviro. groups are going to target him, and if we can get some buzz going we can get rid of his sorry ass. All we need here in Oklahoma a a good candidate to run against him. Unfortunately Brad Henry and Kathy Taylor ( Mayor of Tulsa) have said "no".

They are only doing the bidding of their greedy corporate masters. I hope they do get their asses kick out the next time they are up for an election.

16. This is why we should vote for the (D) even if s/he isn't great
All Democrats, even the Nelsons, are better than the Repubs on this issue. I have yet to see a race where the Democrat isn't better than the Republican overall. That's why I have only voted for Democrats for years.

21. These are finest examples of people
who believe and act on their principles of Economic
Conservatism. We have permitted them to use God, Guns
and Gays in defining conservatism. No one ever
questions or even discusses the economics of Conservatism.

Ruth Rosen has described one of their principles as
"Market Fundamentalism"--the exaggerated and quite irrational
belief of Markets to solve all problems." "privatize
everything, rely on yourself and expect nothing from
your government."

I believe this how Liberals lose out. Republicans go
right after our Ideolgsy-Liberalism. We never go
after their ideology. The economic ideolgy of Conservatism matters
the most . This prevents us from moving forward on anything.
