1. Okay, I have to reply to my own thread just to give kudos to Sen. Kennedy

He's calling out the Republicans again. Talking about how the first thing they did after Katrina hit was tell the workers in the area that minimum wage no longer applied to them, and essentially they had to work for whatever employers wanted to pay them. Talked about how Republicans removed safety protections for workers who do some of the most difficult jobs in the country.

Asks, "what has come over the Republicans? 'We don't want an economy that's going to work for everyone, just a few' -- It's greed."

Now running down to the Republicans why all their arguments don't work -- and talking about how every argument they have has been proven wrong by economic studies.

So, Sen. Kit Bond (R-Missouri) follows Ted Kennedy and says he would support the minimum wage bill if it contained tax incentives for small businesses that would suffer greatly from a "drastic rise in the minimum wage." :eyes: $2.00 over two years. Drastic. :eyes:

2. Ted Kennedy is our only senator that is acting like a Democrat in making a national debate
out of our shameful minimum wage level. Fuck a non-binding Iraq resolution that won't change anything, pass the minimum wage increase today and help the working class, the heart of our party
