Poll question: Which Republican are you hoping gets the nomination in 2008?
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 04:17 PM by Bicoastal
And of course by that I mean--whose nomination would be the greatest boon to Democrats?

Man, there are way too many to list them all--limited this poll only to the ones who at least have exploratory committees set up.

9. Ditto
Brownback is the darling of the extreme religious right wingnuts. But he scares the bejeebers out of everyone else, repukes included.

3. GEORGE W. BUSH
I know that silly constitutional restriction stuff, but if we want to guarantee a dem victory in 08, let the drug addicted, military deserting, corporate criminal, total failure of a human being run again.

10. If Rudy gets nominated, we have a perfect attack ad we can do on him
Get a group of the NYFD firefighting heroes who were laid off after 9/11 and have them talk about what THEY think of Combover Boy.

Or just have her do a Kris Kristofferson in "A Star is Born" number at the GOP convention when the next candidate gets nominated.

12. My dream tickets are as follows:
Democratic:
Clark/Webb

Republic:
Brownback/Tancredo

Minority voting percentages for the GOP will fall into the single digits with klansman Tancredo on the ticket.

He's a racist jerk and I don't see him carrying more than half a dozen states, if that.

15. Well let me see
Allen lost in VA mainly because of his racists comments. So I will go with Tancredo. He may come up with something racist. Even if he does not I cannot see any non-white voting for him.

But now I have to take a shower. Picking from the list has made me feel like I having been swimming in a sewer.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

18. Brownback. If you look closely, you can see him there...in disguise...
with his friends...you know the ones, from that church in Kansas. They like to go to all the soldier's funerals to "pay their respects". :eyes:

And if Brownback isn't there in person, you can be certain he is with them in spirit.

20. Sleazebag Gingrich.

They would love for him to be their front man. And frankly I would too. There has never been anything close to the landslide this would make for the Dem candidate.

Their coattails would give the Dems a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

25. Be careful what you wish for
I can understand hoping for someone you think will be easy to defeat, but we have to remember than any candidate, Republican or Democrat, is always just one big stumble, one real or one trumped-up scandal away from defeat.

Brownback doesn't have much appeal nationally, but he's got what it takes to motivate "the base" in the primaries. I don't think it's out of the question that he could win the Republican nomination.

If somehow, someway, our Democratic candidate goes down, I DO NOT want to be saying "President Brownback" for 4 or 8 years. I don't care for any of the Republican possibilities, but I'd rather have our Democratic candidate working a little harder to defeat a better Republican than run the risk of Brownback winning.

30. As a Virginian
who was twelve years old when that idiot Gilmore was elected governor, and even at that age knew that "no car tax" was a stupid idea, I think he'd be great for the Democrats. I'm pretty sure that his entire platform was based on "no car tax," and all it did for us was create the largest deficit in Virginia history. x( Even with the Republicans' enthusiasm for tax cuts, I think his near-total destruction of our economy might lead some people to think twice. (I hope. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, though...)
