Uh Oh - first Republican Presidential candidate throwing in the towel?
Pataki has packed up and gone home

To a lot of fanfare last fall, former New York Governor George Pataki opened a New Hampshire office for his political action committee. He was the first potential presidential candidate to open an office in the state and for a long time he was the only one.

But in recent months he packed up his Manchester office and moved it to his hometown of Peekskill, N.Y., where his PAC is now based. And as for the Manchester office, it is now available for any other presidential candidate.

In fact, the listing is on Craigslist.

7. ... oh no, keep the complete whackjobs IN the running!
... the more extreme the <R> nominee, the better our chances that the average Joe and Jane will go "Awww HELL NO!" to them on election day.

to pay for his own campagin.

At least he hasn't appeared in public several times in drag - and seemed to enjoy it - as Giuliani has and he hasn't a fraction of the 'female trouble' that Giuliani has had.

6. Would you run as a republican?
Seriously, the next president gets to preside over the helicopters leaving Baghdad scene. The next president gets to try and calm the nation during the ongoing climate change disaster. The next president inherits the housing bubble collapse and the resultant dollar collapse.

At least a democratic president can point fingers at Bush.

Why would a (sane) republican run for president?
